Physical Description:

Gideon and Marek are identical twins. Unlike his brother Gideon, who always dresses in the latest and most trendy fashions now that he has retire from Star Fleet, Merek dresseses as comfortable as possible while still looking stong and built. He'll typically dress in jeans plain low v neck and leather jacket.  Both men carry themselves with poise and discipline.

Merek is not much one for long term relationships. Unlike his brother he tipically keeps with the more traditional trends of reproduction.

While he is usually calm and collected, he does know when to switch from diplomat to combat, especially when he is crossed or when a loved one is threatened. He also has a strong desire to protect his brother and those he cares about from harm. He would rather avoid confrontations but when talking isnt enough he is not afraid to be confrontational, either verbally or physically, espicially physical, when he needs to.

Ambitions: Mereks want to do what ever he can to get the job done. Unlike his brother he's not ready to find ms. Perfect, let alone Mr. Right. He has considered the idea of having children but he would not know how too balance his spartian life style with a wife and kids.

Hobbies and Interests:  Merek enjoys Mathmatica and engineering, strategy games like chess and poker, he ofthen competes with his brother in competitions that last for days, helikes to work out, outdoor activities, rock climbing in the holodeck from time to time as well. He also enjoys spating with holograms.
 

History:

No one knows the exact time that Gideon and Marek were born. On November 3 2323 just outside the Romulan Neutral Zone the USS Exeter was on routine patrol when they encountered a massive Ion storm They were making it though with minimal difficulty when they spotted a ship fleeing the Neutral Zone with four life forms. It was pursued by a Romulan War Bird. They continued to fire on the ship severely damaging it. Captain Benjamin Gates of the Exeter put the Exeter between the Romulan ship and the run about and only then did the ship turn aside.

Just before the smaller ship was destroyed the four life forms were transported to the Exeter.  The pilot was DOA and the mother Rachel  was in bad shape. She lasted enough to identify her two sons, identical twins, to the ship’s crew as Gideon and Marek. She died soon after that without revealing anything more.

The twin boys grew up together on the ship as Star Fleet brats. Pretty much the whole crew took them under their wings. The boys were identical in appearance, but not so much in personality. Merek was always interested in how the ship ran an operated, he would often be cought by security for getting lost inside the jefferys tube.

Merek was always getting into troble by his mischievous brother pranks that were always annoying. Merek knew there was something different about his brother, but he never realized what it was until he came out to him when they were 16. After he told him Merek reassured him that things between them would not change.

But things did change. Merek started to become more protective of his brother and often worried that he would get pressured into doing something that he didnt feel comfortable with.

Eventually Merek and his brother settled down and both boys joined Star Fleet. Since they did not know their real last name they decided to call themselves Exeter.

Merek attended the Academy where he specialized in engineering, and apt career choice because when he was younger he was always facinated by how starships operate. He also got his certifications as a damege control specialist.

During his more than 40 years in Star Fleet he served both on ships and star bases. He and his brother sometimes even served together from time to time. They have both just retired and see Oed V as  a great opportunity.

Like his twin he was also involed with multiple partners and ofthe felt gay thought and pressured romantic relationships with both sexes. But unlike his brother he was more into women.

Both men have limited shape-shifting ability, though nobody is really sure how they developed it.
