Under the Chrysalis Project, also known as the “supermen” project, in the 1990s, augmented humans were first created. Soon after, the Eugenic War ensued, and would later lead into WWIII. With records in turmoil from all the destruction, many of the scientists and unborn ‘augments’ escaped the Earth and the persecution of what they had been a part of. Many colonies would later be founded by these scientists where they could continue their work in ‘perfecting’ the human race.

Ajax Fawkes was one such trial. After many decades of testing, the scientists of the distant colony Oblitus Unum thought they had finally figured out the secrets to a stable and successful ‘augment’. Creating a batch of twenty ‘augments’, the scientists hatched the new test subjects and trained them to be the next step for humans. A few decades later, the colony was discovered by the two Klingon vessels and attacked without warning. The ‘augments’ took up arms and fought back valiantly, later boarding one of the Klingon vessels. After taking the other vessel by surprise and with its destruction, the ‘augments’ set the last Klingon ship to self destruct by programming it to fly into the local star and while they returned to the colony.

Much of the colony had been destroyed during the battle, and those of the test subjects and scientists that hadn’t died, were badly wounded. Not knowing when any help would be available, the remaining ‘augments’ set up a small hidden cryo bunker deep underground. Fixing the energy source to work off the geothermal of the planet, and creating a ‘wake up’ program to activate when a ship entered the system, the survivors went to sleep in the cryo tubes.

Centuries would pass before anyone would stop back through the system that housed the colony once known as Oblitus Unum. A damaged civilian freighter had dropped from warp to make repairs. The ‘wake up’ program sensed the arrival of the freighter and within a few hours the cryo tubes had been fully awakened. Finding no threat from the freighter, the survivors hailed them and requested aide. Coming to a common agreement, the ‘augments’ and the freighter crew helped in fixing the ship up, and in return, the survivors would get a ride back to inhabited space.

Learning of what had transpired in their long slumber, the ‘augments’ decided to keep their origins a secret. Many relocated to other outside colonies. But not Ajax. Ajax longed to see the known universe. Taking up mercenary work, Ajax became a well known soldier for hire and fought many campaigns for countless races over the next few decades. But being a soldier started to bore him. Going from planet to planet, fighting for causes he had no stakes in, and never being able to call any of them home. He cashed in a major portion of his gold pressed latinum, and bought a small cruiser, dubbing it "Honorem Vinctum", he finally had a place to call home and keeping a constant rotation of crewmen every few years, kept him under the radar while he did ‘legit’ runs of goods to those that needed it or that could afford his prices.

Lately Ajax has been wishing to find a planet to park his cruiser and stop travelling the space ways. Searching the SubSpace database, a little colony on an outskirt planet intrigued him, Oed V. Sure a StarFleet presence was there, but his genetics weren’t outlawed for living, just for StarFleet consideration, which he had no plans of joining. Sending a subspace communikay to the Governor of Oed V, Ajax requested consideration for the Police Chief position.

Appearance: Ajax’s appearance seems to be of the simple kind, with a few out of place (time) objects. He wears simple pants with multiple pockets, a wider than normal leathery belt, and ending with a pair of extremely worn style combat boots. He wears an ‘alice-like’ suspender over a loose shirt with its sleeves hidden under a leathery waist length jacket of unknown animal origin (planet from the far side of the gamma quadrant) with small shoulder compartments. Strapped to his right upper thigh sits a heavily modified ‘archaic’ pistol that fires .30 caliber tritanium bullets with eight to a cylinder. In an inverted sheath attached to the left side suspender, sits a long Klingon Captain’s knife that is over 200 yrs old, signifying victory in his first battle.

Standing at 1.83 meters, and weighing around 114 kilos, Ajax is an intimidating man. His hair is dark brown with a slight waviness to it, and kept short, rarely reaching 4 inches in length. He normally keeps his facial hair to a scruff, but with the recent appointment to police chief, he has taken to clean shaven until he gets settled into his role on Oed V.

(For role playing aspects, very few will know of Ajax's augmented biology until his uniqueness is played out through his actions or gene scanned in threads. The governor, possibly vice governor, and chief medical are the few that would be privy to this info upfront.)
