: : : : There was silence.

: : : : Corinne waited for the server to set the dishes of sushi and sashimi down and took a moment to pick up her chopsticks deftly in her long fingers. She poured some soya sauce into the small dish and swirled some wasabi into it until it was well mixed. Rather than gently lifting a piece of sushi with the pointed tips of her chopsticks, Cori speared it rather forcefully, dipped it briefly in the soy and wasabi mixture and then popped it into her mouth. She chewed while she fumed. What was there to say really? She felt sorry for Jacen, for herself. She never quite understood exactly why the Captain had acted so guiltily towards her, but now things made sense.

: : : "You okay hon? This... this is a lot to take in." he said, not really touching his food. He was worried greatly for her sake.

: : "Oh, just peachy," she said bitterly. "You know, I knew there was a reason I never bothered falling in love… besides, it's proven to be a stupid idea more than once," she added stabbing another piece of sushi with force and popping it into her mouth. "I always seem to end up the worse for wear."

: "Love isn't stupid, despite me running around the ship with a bleeding heart cause of how things have gone down with me and Lilly... I'd still do it again. Love is a risk yes, but... life is too. You just need to find someone to latch onto that understands who you are. That of course maybe easier said than done." he said smiling lightly with a head shake.
:
"Understatement much," Cori said with a smirk.

: "I am sorry for being the one to have to tell you this. It should have been one of them a long long time ago. They both seemed to have abandoned us though and now we are left to sort through the crap."

"Honestly, probably for the best at the moment," she replied with a sigh. "Look Jarred, thank you for being honest with me. I appreciate it. But at the moment, I need time to absorb and process this. Rain check on the rest of rest of dinner?" she asked, at least bothering to ask before she simply disappeared.
