: : : : : : : : : : : : The CO arrived at the shuttle bay after a short detour to his quarters. He walked in wearing his cap, a phaser, and carrying a small book entitled "22nd Century Archaeology in Space". looking around he thought he was the first to arrive.

He said to the commanding officer, " You never know when your going to have to fix something and i have some extra charge packs rations and portable source of electricity and light for us as well. This should be interesting never been on a Archaeology trek before." He put the kind of heavy duffle bage of equipment down near the shuttle.

: : : : : : : The techs finished their prep work and one walked to the Captain, "..Sir we're all set here just waiting on the rest of your landing party." the tech said.

: : : : : : Megan, who had been leaning against the bulkhead watching the drama between the Captain and HJ unfold stepped away shaking her head slightly. She walked over and climbed in the shuttle so she could began making preperations for take-off. She knew the others would be joining her there as they arrived and that the Captain and HJ would make it in once they finished their discussion.

: : : She nodded briefly at the Captain in acknowledgment, but her real focus as on going throuh her pre-flight check. Once she was done she gave him a closer look. "Have ye flown one of these before sir?"

: : Matthew ran to catch up with the rest of the away team, who were boarding the shuttle. "Sorry I'm late, Captain." he said as he climbed in with his science equipment in a small backpack, obviously out of breath. "I needed some last minute stuff and then I got caught up with Ensign Grey. I'm all set now."

: Once the away team was assembled the techs dispersed the area as the Pod doors closed.

: As the hanger opened the pod eased from its moorings and began the descent through the atmosphere of UEP-X36. The ride down was smooth and easy going without much trouble in the piloting. Megan could probably have done the whole trip with her eyes shut if she wanted.

: As the emerged from the cloud cover though and closed in on the signal of the off phased warp signature they found a sprawling Mayan series of ruins among a lush jungle area. There were several landing sites to choose from one actually quite near the signal they were homing in on. So far no life was detected beyond a few animals.

Megan glanced over at the Captain, "Should I put us down there?" she said pointing to the clearing nearest the ruins. "Also I know we haven't detected any intelligent life, I'd still reccommemd caution. Those buildings might have shieldin either natural or not so natural. But then again I might just be a bit paranoid."
