: : : : : : : : : : : : : "Oh, yes, the brainwave scans. Let's see how these fresh scans correlate with the ones that we have already on record with the crew. That should tell us if we've been drugged, or exposed to a brain disease. Or radiation, although our sensors would warn us, I'd think. or whatever."

: : : : : : : : : : : : : Dr. Gilbert Vauhgn
: : : : : : : : : : : : : CMO
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : Scans will show no drugs, no disease, no radiation. When compared with scans prior to two days ago, varying increases in dopamine levels will be found. The command staff and engineering being 23% higher than most. With the total ship's compliment effected at a rate of 85%.

: : : : : : : : : : : : GM
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Gilbert read out the results from the scans.
: : : : : : : : : : : "Whoa! So it's not just the department heads. But I can;t explain the dopamine levels. This is what drives us to reward. Prevalent in many illegal drugs as well as therapeutic ones to be sure. "
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : Dr. Gilbert Vaughn
: : : : : : : : : : : CMO
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : Sitting up on the bed, Shirazi looked over at Vaughn. "So does that mean we HAVE been drugged? But how?" Surely the doctor could give them something to lower their dopamine levels so they could think straight...
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : ---Thorne
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Gilbert said, "No, we've not been drugged. At least not in the conventional sense. The scans on that are negative. And certainly any drug wouldn't effect the 85% of the crew as is, with an emphasis on medical. engineering, and the senior staff."
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : "A drug with such a wide range of effects would need to be introduced to the environmental system. Of which would then be breathed as an odorless, colorless, gas. Alternatively this drug could be introduced into the replicators for ingestion as a food additive."
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : "Either way, such a foreign compound would be detected automatically by our secondary internal sensors."
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Sidney listened to the information Vaughn had just given out. What were the odds that the Senior Staff would be affected to that much greater a degree than the other crew. Was there an exposure incident that would have affected them to a greater degree. He didnt think so. He and Vaughn had barely seen each other and if the Bridge was a key point why was the CAG so affected. She didn´t even go to the Bridge much and not so lately.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : "Dr. given that information I would have to conclude we are being purposely infected or affected. There is no way the Senior staff would be so much more affected than others. It makes no sense." He said and then looked at Shirazi. He felt an urgent pang of lust for her but he kept it at bay.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : "Send that data to Kolar. He will need it." He said. It felt odd for him not to be on the Bridge and in command. However it seemed Kolar was the only one able to make objective decisions right now..or so he hoped.

: : : : : : : : : Parker (CO)
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Gilbert said, "Right, sending it now Captain. I should have done that first, I'm sorry."

: : : : : : : Dr. Gilbert Vaughn
: : : : : : : CMO
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Toro came around again "Parker...where is he?" She slurred "Where's my Sambucca?" She tried to sit up but found she was too intoxicated to do much of anything.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : CAG
: : : : : Mirri looked at the CMO "Can I be cleared for duty and return to my station." She asked.

: : : :
: : : : OOC: check out dopamine here so we are all on the same page. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dopamine?s=ts
: : : :
: : : : IC: Dr. Vaughn will notice slight tremors in both Parker and Thorne, which both will deny.
: : : :
: : : : GM
: : :
: : : Shirazi looked down at the floor. She shook her head a bit as if to clear it. Reaching up, she hooked the blue glasses and slid them off her face. Something was odd with her vision. (OOC: I actually had eye tremors once from too large a dose of medication that increased my dopamine levels...very weird!)
: : :
: : : Without looking at the CMO, "So, we haven't been drugged but 85% of the crew have increased levels of...dopamine? How is that possible and can you counteract it?" She slid off the bio bed and walked carefully over to Sid. "There's something wrong with my eyes." she whispered.
: : :
: : : ---Thorne
: :
: : "I'm having hand tremors." He whispered back.
: :
: : "Dr what are the effects of high dopamine levels and can they be dangerous?" He asked.
: :
: : Parker (CO)
:
: Mirri rubbed her forehead "I'd really like to get back to work." She said getting irritated and anxious.

ooc: I may need some GM guidance on dopamine so i don't completely botch a few posts. But here goes :p ~Mike

ic:
"No one's getting cleared from the sick bay yet until I can figure out why we're all suffering from the enhanced dopamine levels. It naturally occurs in our chemistry. Bad things happen when we have too little. I'm not aware of any current medical conditions where what happens if we have too much?"

"However, in the past it was not an uncommon medical condition. So I need to research some notes for, a, for a recommendation of a complete prognosis."

"On the other hand if everyone's effected, then who's running the ship? I still don't know if it's something that we were all commonly exposed to or not. I just don't want people walking around and passing out on their consoles or something."

Dr. Gilbert Vaughn
CMO
