COS Office - Phasers on USS Vanguard

: : : : "Very realistic. I am to assume we are to eliminate the Romulans for whatever reason?"
: : : :
: : : : She shouldered the weapon again, braced it against her shoulder and heard the beep that indicated that it had switched firing modes, and launched a grenade at the group of Romulans...
: : : :
: : : : T'Pel, CE
: : :
: : : He had been about to tell her when she launched the grenade. It landed precisely in their midst, and detonated on impact. A cubic preassure wave engulved the group of romulans in a red haze, there was the sound of an implosion rather then an explosion and when the mist cleared, the space was simply empty.
: : :
: : : K'Mar nodded with a tiny smile.
: : : "Erm, yes we are. Much better display of the effect there than with the many wood splinters of the falling tree. And very good aim T'Pel. How did you learn to shoot that well? he asked.
: : :
: : : - K'Mar
: :
: : "Interesting." She commented, as she saw the effects of the grenade.
: :
: : She looked at him as he asked the question, and lowered her weapon. "The same way that anyone learns to shoot well, Commander. By practicing." As if that was obvious.
:
: : "This grenade did not explode." She observed. "What just happened?" She was not afraid of admitting when she did not know something, and she certainly did not know what she had just seen that grenade do.
: :
: : T'Pel, CE
:
: He mentally hit himself. Always the same mistake, as if he didn't know. "Let me rephrase that. Where did you practice to shoot so well? Was it here on the Vanguard? And yes, it's also a new type of GRanade, designed to not make so much noise. There was a detonation on impact, triggering an implosion in a controlled area that acts a bit like a disruptor. The advantage is less ruckus and less evidence of what has happened and who was killed." he said as if talking about a cookie recipe.

She nodded, and appeared to be thinking about it.

"No, I have not been on the Vanguard long. I just completed my first mission here." She replied. "But it is not a difficult thing to practice. I have found the time at all my previous postings. I am surprised that more weapons practice is not required of all Star Fleet officers and enlisted."
