: : : : : : : : OOC: Please note this is the good Father not your lioness.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : IC: Having finished with the Captain and the MACCO's CO Elliot made his way to Sick Bay for his physical. Though rather on the thin side from his tenure in the monastery, he was also rather ripped since he had spent at least an hour each day exercising. He didn't think he would have any trouble passing the physical, but still it was a fromality and unlike many other Star Fleet or MACCO officers he didn't mind. It gave him a chance to meet other people.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : He walked into Sick Bay and looked around.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Father Jim
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : OOC: I knew that. Megan would've said something.
: : : : : : OOC: You're pretty observant so I guessed you would know, just didn't want you to try kissing the priest, that would not be a pretty picture.
: : : : : : : IC:
: : : : : : : It was rather quiet. The only people had come in was the captain which was hours ago. Adande was rather bored. This would be a good time to get something to eat. Getting up he made his way out bumping into a man walking in.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : "Sorry about that."he said. "I'm gonna assume you're here for a medical."
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Adande
: : : : : :
: : : : : : IC: "Yes I am," the man said holding out his hand, "I'm the newest member of the crew. I'm the new ship's chaplin Jim Elliot. Glad to meet you Doctor."
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Fathe Jim
: : : : :
: : : : : "Percy Adande; medical chief."he replied shaking the chaplain's hand. Adande thought that this was interesting. In many ways they were in an unique situation. They both dealt with the needs of the crew. "If you'll have a seat we can begin."he said." Adande continued with a question. "Father, what possesses a man of the cloth to join the marines? Seems like a contradiction."he asked noting his rank of a marine.
: : : : :
: : : : : Adande
: : : :
: : : : "You know, a lot of people think so," Jim said he moved to take a seat, "But there have been chaplins in the Marines and other armed forces going back generations. I spent a lot of time in prayer and really felt the Lord was leading me to the MACCOS. I know it might seem like a contradiction, but I don't see it that way. I see it as a mission field. Besides MACCOS and Star Fleet are in need of spirtual guidence more than most."
: : : :
: : : : Father Jim
: : :
: : : That was a reasonable answer from a reasonable man. Adande wasn't certain this could be considered a mission field. Not that he couldn't see the priest's enthusiasm. Adande, himself, didn't need religion; he had Megan. That was enough for him. "Just some basic questions to begin. Any allergies?"
: :
: : "I am allergic to Penicillian. and to cat dander. I had a rather mild reaction the last time I was given Penicillian which was a few years ago. My doctor said that next time it might be milder or it could kill me. I don' think I want to find out. The cat dander can be down right annoying but don't see too many cats in space.
: : :
: : : "Any recent illnesses or injuries?"
: :
: : "I've got a nasty looking scar from a plasma burn on my chest. I got about 10 months ago but no illnesses. Maybe a migrane once in a blue moon but nothing I can't handle."
: : :
: : : "Any continuing medical conditions I should note?"
: :
: : "No, not that I can think of.
: : :
: : : Adande
: :
: : "Now, it's my turn to ask you a few questions, if you don't mind."
: :
: :
: : "I'm going to start some chapel services, when is the most convenient time for you?"
: :
: Percy didn't have much time. He was usually on call. "I'm the only doctor on call, I'm a little busy at the moment."

"I understand, perhaps we should discuss adding a doctor to your staff. Might be a really good idea even if you still can't find the time.
: :
: : "Do you play poker?"
: :
: Adande responded. "Not well, and not too often. I'm far too easy to read."

"Ah too bad, but I understand. I play myself sometimes. Yes I know it might seem a contradiction, but my winnings go to support widows and orphans not just to line my own pockets.
:
: : "I know you've given a lot of thought to helping people physically, what about your spiritual condition?"
: :
: Percy hadn't thought about that much. He really didn't say much about those matters. "Honestly, haven't had much time to think about that."
:
"Well perhaps we should talk about that some day. Wouldn't want you to get to the other side and find out you weren't prepared.
