"Well, I've seen all I needed to see to renew your weapons level ranking. Can I ask you what you do in your off duty hours?" he added and mentally held his breath, while outwardly he put on his best Vulcan mien.

: T'Pel furrowed her brow for a moment, wondering about his question... it was so distracting to have a Vulcan acting like a human, even just a little. It was an adjustment she would have to get used to. Of course he could ask. There was nothing prohibiting him from asking. But she suspected he wanted more content in the answer than that...

: "I meditate, workout, train, read, sleep, eat, and attend to personal hygiene in my off duty hours. You?" She reciprocated the question in what she had learned was polite human custom, and she had to admit she was slightly curious as to this answer anyway.

"Very much the same, although I probably read something different to you. Which meditation technique do you use? I've practised all the standard ones, but only a few of the specialised ones. And of course I'm rather out of date about any new ones, my mother doesn't like subspace conversations. She prefers personal contact." he said.
