Neela took a long drink of the strong dark liquid and rang the chime on the Counselor's door and waited for her to respond.

: : : : : : : : Ardana's head popped out between two plants. "Hello dear colleague. I'm fine, and was looking forward to your visit. Please make yourself comfortable and don't mind Arthur or Drool, they're both very cuddly."

: : : : : : : Neela smiled and sat down taking a long drink from her coffee cup. It had been an eventful week and it was starting to take it's toll. "So which ones are Arthur and Drool?" She asked looking at the beautiful plants.

: : : : : : As if in response a black cat emerged and lay itself flat over her feet, which immediatelly felt warmer with the fur cover. A piece of fur detatched from the cat. No, it was not only fur. A little animal in the form of a fist thick hairball fluttered up with tiny bat-like wings and settled next to her on the sofa. Out of the fur two dark big eyes watched her and it chirped.

: : : : : : Then Ardana emerged too, putting down the watering can. "the cat is Arthur and that is Drool, a Talerian Elu. His excrement contains a substance that I make into a salve, which, when applied, heals a wound fifty times as fast." she said and smiled, getting a coffee for herself too.

: : : : : Neela smiled and reached down to pet the cat "Well aren't you just so handsome." She said to the cat and held out her finger to the Elu "I've heard of their excrement. I have been considering getting one to add to our sickbay." She said as she rubbed a tired hand over her face.

: : : : Arthur immediatelly started purring and Drool eyed the finger and then rubbed itsel against it.
: : : : Ardana sat down with a smile. "Oh, well in that case it's good we talked about this, since, as you know then, they breed like Tribbles, that's why I have Arthur as Drool's companion, they love each other. We'd have to make sure they never meet, I don't think the Captain wouldn't appreciate a flood of flying Elus." she laughed at the thought.

: : : Neela smiled "Well perhaps we can share the salve." She said "Rather than getting another one. It might be safer that way." She said "I don't think a flock of Elus on the Europa would go over well." She said taking a drink of her coffee. She looked around the room "You seem to be settling in nicely." Neela said as she stroked the Elu that was sitting next to her.

: : Ardana gave a chiming laugh. "Hey, that's my line. I'll let you have the salve, if you let me have my lines." she said, still laughing, and her laugh was contagious.

: : "Yes, I'm settling in fine. As soon as I got this around me, it's home. And it's been that on so many ships that I sometimes have to think hard where I am." she said, smiling.
: : "And you, Neela? What made you leave such a beautiful planet like Bajor?" she asked.

: "My desire to explore the galaxy." She said with a smile "Lenar and I agreed that it would be good for us to travel while we were still fairly young. And it will give our little ones experiences that they'd never had had otherwise." Neela said thinking about the twins that were currently at home with her oldest daughter. Her smile faded slightly at Leeta and everything that she had been through. She was safe now, that was all that mattered.

: She looked back at Ardana "We go home every year for two weeks to see family and friends." She said "We love going to the old city and seeing the ruins." Neela explained "I hope that our children will learn to appreciate Bajor as much as Lenar and I do."

Ardana nodded listening attentively. "Now, before we chat any further, where do you wanna continue? Here, with something from the replicator, or in the lounge?" she asked.

"Lenar is your husband? Is he on the ship with the little ones?" Ardana asked further, warming up quickly to the Doctor.
