: : : : : : : : : : Charles arrived in the armory only a few hours after his early jog with the commander and after taking a shower he moved to his ordered location and waited in a corner for the commander.

: : : : : : : : : McCarthy took a few steps into the Armoury and smiled slightly as he noticed Grey. "Thank you for coming Ensign.. the only reason I brought you here was that on a mission like we are on.. your going to have to pick up a phase rifle at some point.. and I got taught that in combat you have to rely on the person next to you.. your comments on our run earlier worried me.. so its my responsibity to help you.. now go to the locker and grab up a phase rifle"

: : : : : : : : : McCarthy looked around for where the optical sensors where kept for training. He found them quickly in a locker and started to set them up with a great familiarity.

: : : : : : : : Grey picked up a rifle, it was a little heavier than he expeted but he got used to it in a moment. He then moved next to the commander.

: : : : : : : McCarthy smiled slightly as he picked up a phase pistol. He strode towards where he had set up the target and hit a button. A computer-generated target popped up and started to fly around within the confines of the sensor. McCarthy adopted the pistol in two hands and brought it up rather quickly and followed the target.

: : : : : : : "Now the fundamentals of marksmanship are the same.. from pistol to rifle.. but you have to work on grip.. aim.. breath control... trigger squeeze... target engagement and position... "

: : : : : : : McCarthy brought the pistol up quickly and snapped off shots at the targets as they changed position. He brought it up and engaged the targets with a few quick shots.

: : : : : : Chuck looked between the rifle and McCarthy "Okidey" he said before raising the rifle and pointing at the targets and doing what the commander said, grip, aim, breath and then he squeezed the trigger, it fired a shot and hit the outer edges of the target, barely hitting it "That went better than expected" he said, he did not seem very disappointed in barely hitting the target.

: : : : : Melissa had been in her office when she heard McCarthy speaking, stepping out she watched as the two began the target practice. She watched with a trained eye to find any pointers that might help.

: : : : "Okay.. at least you took a shot.. " McCarthy said with an encouraging smile "now this time... watch the target with your eye and try to imagine you actually hitting it.. make that rifle an extention of your arm when you shoot.. you are just reaching out with a plasma type fist to tap it... "

: : : "Oh alright" he said raising his rifle again, it took him a few moments before squeezing the trigger again, this time hitting the target near the middle of it, he lowered the rifle again "So now I've gotta learn how to do that 10 times faster" he said casually.

"Never rush your shots mate.. its better to hit something with five shots then it is to exhaust your mag and not hit anything.. its known as trigger disipline.. just keep trying... " McCarthy said with a nod.

: : James would walk into the room looking around some seeing both the Sci and the XO and walk over to them. "Hello sirHow id he doing." then would see the CAO as well "Hello Ma am."

"Corporal.." McCarthy nodded slowly with a smile "gonna make a MACO out of him yet.."

: H J comes into the sceen, he was carrying something weird looking that his dads company CDI was developing. He said "mind if i try?"

McCarthy raised an eyebrow "if you think your gonna let off some kinda suped up weapon down here H J then you have another thing coming.. but you can pick up a phase rifle and join in if you want?..."
