: : : : Meanwhile, Karenla slid up onto a barstool, her cheeks flushed from dancing. The young Trill placed her wide brimmed hat on the bar top and smiled at Shamera and the cadet. "Man, I could use water or something cold. But great party!"

: : And a second later she had a big glass of cool water placed in front of her. "something cold as well?" Shamera asked, grinning. "I can put my hand on your forehead she offered, knowing that the other Trill would know that all Trill had perpetually cold extremities.

Avz grinned and accepted the water, lifting her glass in thanks. "Not the worst Idea I've heard," Karenla teased.

: "McGuyver" laughed nurviosly "Get a room you three," with a wink to the bartender, "or is it four?" *That's the thing about trill you could nevr tell who was joined or not.*

Karenla laughed. "Three. It's just me and and will always be so," she said simply, with no hint of any sort of disappointment. Being joined was a big deal for a lot of Trill and many aspired to it. But not her. She was perfectly happy to be as she was. Of course she was curious, but over the years she had spoken to enough joined Trill to have an inkling of what it might be like, even if true comprehension wasn't something she'd ever have.

The Yeoman scrutinized the cadet. "King… Cadet King, am I right?" Karenla asked.
