: : : : Christof, was really paranoid at this point, he kept his eyes moving, he was calm and collected, so that combined with smoothly moving eyes and swiveling head, gave him a predatory appearance in contradiction to his normal soft spoken engineering visage. Almost as if this was different man. Christof approached the tea set cautiously. He studied the set, he studied the crate, and looked for the chief, and wondered just gow deep this rabbit hole ran.

: : : Suddenly Christof was illuminated in a blinding light, it was the heavy duty landing and inspection lights being directed onto the crate.
: : :
: : : "So you've followed the bread crumbs sir...." came Williams unmistakable voice from somewhere behind the lights.

: : if Christof had been capable of terror any longer, he would have been terrified, the last time he had stood in a light like this he was getting ready to be shipped off, the day before his life had started over. He would be sweating but he couldn't sweat, instead his mind went into overdrive, his nerves calmed to the point of being as cold as the vacuum outside the hull, his eyes focused with lazer clarity but he could not see past the blinding light. He barely trusted his voice to speak but he had to respond.
: :
: : "Yes Chief, it seem I have found another bend in the Rabbit hole, and those very bread crumbs have led me to this moment in time", the voice was not as soft as before, there was a sharp clarity that would readily lend itself to command, the normal soft terran accent was gone, replaced with a crisp clip that was grammatically perfect. Christof stood stock still, but someone with a trained eye could see the energy moving along the muscualture, minute twitches of muscles prepared to react in either flight or fight, until the movement started it was hard to know which reaction might come from an unknown combatant such as Christof, if earlier encounters spoke true then it was a flight resposne that was prepared. "Perhaps, whom ever should have made sure they ate the entirety of the bread to ensure no one would find the crumbs by happenstance and wonder why there was a mess."

: The unmistakable sound of boots on a metal grating could be heard from behind the lights, they moved slowly and calmly. The familiar silhouette of Lehardy could be made out between two of the larger lights.
:
: "You know its unfortunate you managed to work this out...." William said from behind the lights, he seemed to raise something in the air and point it towards Robinson.....

The flight response never formed, instead Christof just blew a long breath out, and his feet slid to shoulder width and his hands went behind his back in the classic at ease position, if the Cheif already had aim there was no point in running, and his best chance would be to wait till just as the chief fired to try and dodge. Small movements could be seen in Christofs shoulders as he thought about the situation and rolled his lucky coin over his fingers behind his back, he noted possible places to move once the tension really broke and hostilities ensued. He could hear the seconds tick slowly, each individual heart beat as time slowed to a crawl. Like a switch being flipped he knew that things would be okay no matter how they turned out. "Life is a series of unfortunate events, the trick is to make the best out of each one, or learn to take it like a man." The voice was still crisp and clear, traces of a strange accent at the edges.
