After the senior staff meeting, Ylana headed back to the labs and her office to sort things out. Who to pick? Her staff hadn't been very stable lately,and sometimes she didn't blame them. Who wanted to be a scientist on a warship? Still, she was happy here. More than happy actually. Despite all the difficult things that had happened to her and Michael over the last year, she knew that this is where she was supposed to be.

Ylana rubbed the gorgeous ring on her hand and smiled. No one had noticed yet. Or no one had mentioned that her and the captain here wearing rings. In a way, the secret was even more thrilling! Their secret. She smiled wider as she sorted through a couple of PADDs and sat at her desk.

Half an hour later, Ylana had decided on Lt. (jg.) Simon Jensson and forwarded the name to the XO, and CCing Michael as well.
