: : : : Neela had tossed the crate as instructed and sighed in relief as the ship moved off deciding that they were not carrying what Thantos was looking for. It was only a short time later, that the shuttle docked with the Europa again and the trio stepped off the shuttle. Leeta looked at her mother and started crying. Neela looked at Logan and gave him a nod "I'll bring her to the Captain shortly." She said as she led her daughter to their quarters so that she could shower and clean up.

: : : : An hour later, Neela led her eldest daughter to the Bridge and to the Captain's ready room and rang the chime. She stood tall next to her daughter, her eyes fiercely protective.

: : : After letting the two of them in and waving them to sit down, Dvorak pushed a button on his desk. =/\= Computer, execute instruction set Dvorak-28049-Delta. =/\= If they chose to pay attention to the window behind the Captain's desk, the women would notice that the ship was changing course.

: : : Once this was done, his attention shifted focus to the ship's new guest. "Hello Leeta. I'm Captain Johann Dvorak of the Federation Starship Europa," he said. He knew she knew that --they had already talked over subspace-- but it was part of the formalities. "It is my understanding that you wish to apply for political asylum within the United Federation of Planets, and specifically, aboard this vessel. Is this correct?"

: : Leeta was standing just behind her mother, very shy "I am seeking asylum aboard this ship from my father." She said quietly "I hope that you will grant that. I do have information that I can share with you as well." She said smoothing her tunic over her expanding abdomen.

: : She waited for additional questions from the Captain.

: "Yes, I intend to do that," he said, smiling slightly, speaking less formally than he had been before, "it's just that I'm required to ask that particular question in that particular way. Have a seat, both of you, if you want."

: In addition to the desk's usual contents, there was a PADD. He gave it to Dr. Jas.

: "That's a form that you'll eventually have to fill out and sign," he said to Leeta. "It asks for some basic information about you, and has you agree to a statement that basically says you're not trying to commit espionage or terrorism against the Federation, you agree to a background investigation, et cetera. You and your mother can go over it in detail later, you don't need to fill it out right at this moment." Aside from simply not wanting to shock the young woman with a lot of legalese right off the bat, he wasn't sure what the generally expected age of majority was for Cardassians, but he was pretty sure that Leeta was slightly under that. Legal standards on who could and could not sign a legally binding document with the Federation were bewildering because of all the different species and cultures that could involved.

: "Now, is there anything you'd like to ask or tell me right away? I imagine some people will likely want to interview you later once I make my report after we're finished here."

: Meanwhile, the stars visible outside the window stopped changing, but they appeared to be moving a little bit faster than before.

Neela took the PaDD, she'd go over it with Leeta later, she motioned for Leeta to sit down.

Leeta looked Johann "Who else will want to talk to me?" She asked a bit apprehensively "I need to keep as low a profile as possible or my father....my father will find me." She said a look of fear passing over her face and she paused "You need to know that they are reorganizing, the Obsidian Order." She said maintaining eye contact with the Captain "They are going to make a play for power again. And probably sooner rather than later." Leeta said "I was on a training mission when I made my escape." She said.

Leeta
