: : : : : : : "And the Vren?" Everett asked as he absorbed as much information as he could. "Have you had many run in's with them?" He studied the man in front of him more closely, still uncertain of how much trust he should or could put into him.

: : : : : The Governor nodded. "That I do. Star Fleet have been tossing the word Vren at me left and right but have told me very little about them, which I find to be rather typical of that organization. How am I to protect the civilians of this planet from a foe I know nothing at all about? I am hoping I can count on you for that information."

: : : : "As I am not an entity of Star Fleet, I do have overhead to consider. I'm sure you can understand that I can't do the job for free. At least you can be assured that if I can't find you what you're looking for, you won't have to pay."

: : : "No worries, what do you feel would be a fair price for the information I seek?" Everett asked as he looked over the man. He wondered if Garrett had reasonable prices or if he may have to go through Harper Winterhawk.

: : "Do you need anything specific? I mean a full dossier on an entire race would be quite an extensive amount of data. I can do that but the resources I'd have to commit would be quite vast and very expensive."

: "I would like to know more about their military if they have any, and their known tactics." Everett replied. "For starters at least, then I would like to know what it is that they value the most."

: : Garrett set a data crystal on the desk in front of Abbott.

: Everett took the data crystal and placed it into the data port built into his desk. A Screen popped up and displayed all the information contained in the crystal.

The crystal contained what appeared to be a complete history of Abbot's life from his mother's pre-natal doctor visits to the age of seventeen. It included images, video, and audio files as well as text.

"I understand if this makes you uncomfortable, but there's no better way to display the authenticity of services than by providing information that the buyer knows in indisputably factual."
