: : : : "Oh, lovely!" Talia remarked. "Aiofe and Niamh will be two in January… well, Terran calendar anyway. I 'ave to admit I never had much of a chance to be knowing others very well before I left, and those I did are no longer on ta colony. It would be nice to meet others. Bein' a single mam has been a wee bit lonely." it was slightly an understatement, though her parents neighbours had been kind and helpful. The problem was that she just felt disconnected to Kilarney and always had. She loved her home but she was a Star-fleet officer through and through.

: : : "My mother raised me for a few years on her own before she married my Stepfather." Adam said. He usually never spoke of his mother while on duty, he missed her more than ever and he hadn't seen her in a few years. "So, what happened to the dead beat dad and how are the girls coping?" His questions were usually to the point and lacked some tact. Ever since his father's visit though, his words hadn't been as biting as before. Every time he saw his dad, he felt saddened for a few weeks after. He would never be a good enough son for him and this often made the counselor feel useless. He was lucky to have Casey now, to help him through.

: : Dead beat dad. Was that what Jack was? "I wouldn't call him dead beat, just absent. Jack and I met between me assignments and when I was on leave on Earth. We fell in love but knew long distance wouldn't work. I was shipping out to goodness knows where and he was teaching at the Academy. We said goodbye and I got me orders to come here. Then I found out I was pregnant, stupid me, and he shows up! He got a transfer and didn't know I was here. Everything was wonderful for a few weeks and we made plans to move in together. Then I come home from work one day and there's a note saying he had to go take care of somethin' really important and that he hoped to be back soon and that he loved me. I never saw or heard from him again." Talia felt a familiar sadness over it, but the anger and hurt was long gone.

Adam wondered how his father had left his pregnant mother. Did he leave a note or did he tell her face to face that he was already married with a family he was runing back to? Whatever way he did it, his mother left no ill will to him. Then again, his mother wasn't one to hold grudges. She was a very sweet and kind lady. How he ended up being her son, he would never know. "Interesting. Have you tried getting information from Command, or perhaps hiring an investigator to find him?"

: : "I was pregnant with twins and on me own, so I couldn't very well wallow in self-pity. People helped, which I've always been very grateful fer. the girls don't know him so they don't know any better. One day they'll ask I'm sure but till then, it's just us gals."

: Bump

OOC: I swore i replied to this! Ah well, thanks for the bump :)

"Oh they will, trust me. What are you planning to tell them? Or do you maybe plan to tell them before they start asking questions?" His mind was replaying the scene of he and his mother when he was a teenager and demanding answers with anger in his voice. He knew he was different than both his mother and who he thought was his father at the time. Clint was a good man, but Adam did not look like him and had sneakingly done a DNA test and found out he was not his biological son.
