: : : : : : "Please sit down Admiral." although he was retired, all officers above the rank of commander were able to use the rank in civilian life. Although he had been told not to call Courvoisier that, he didn't feel comfortable doing so. He said "As you two should already have seen, Admiral Courvoisier is not feeling as though he is in the loop so to speak, is that right?". He paused momentarily for an acknowledgement. He then continued, "As such, I would like to remind you that the Admiral is here as a civilian consultant on any and all cases you may not need his help on some but he has spent many years in the JAG corps so has vast experience in a range of issues. Questions?"

: : : : : Alexander sat back, and smiled a bit, "I do not feel that I am out of the loop, just wanted to clear the air officially so that information can be shared uncensored. Your crew has done a splendid job of sticking to offical evidentiary and precedural regulations regarding confedinetiallity, actually though I was orginally a bit agreived at it, I wish to commend them for keeping my nose out from under the tent flaps with out authorization." Alexander leaned forward. "In this paticular case I just wish to have the pertinent facts when I place the comm call to the Vulcan high command concerning the death, and dispensation of their citizen, and governmental employee. And one point of Clarification, I have served as a JAG officer but my career was in Intelligence, so if I can be of assistance clear informational road blocks I can help in that manner as well."

: : : :
: : : : "You can count on the full cooperation of the Security Department Admiral."
: : : :
: : : : He turned a sideways, almost guilty glance at Jurraso. They had slept together, but that's all it had been was sleep. Still he found a difficult to keep his face impassive when she was around.

: : : : Simon
: : :
: : : Marina didn't glance back at Simon as she seemed deep in thought. "My problem with consultation as a term for a position, is that it is very vague. You say that he is a consultant on all cases, but that does not clarify what his role is. His title on the roster notes him as a JAG consultant. His is assisting the lawyers with the legal side of things? Is he assigned to work with the Investigations department? How does that fit in with my own department?" She sighed. "I am not trying to be difficult, but past Intelligence work does not mean I take kindly to operating in the dark about sensitive matters."
: : :
: : : She turned her head to look at Courvoisier. "I am still unnerved by your knowledge of a case that is not even a case yet. The Vulcan case you are referring to was only /just/ brought to my attention by my junior officer a few moments before you came into the lab. All he had at that point was a suspicion and was seeking my advice on how to proceed. That you had such intimate knowledge of all this already frankly is more of a problem for me, and the ship in general, than whether you think people are bowing down to your unclear position on this ship."

: : : Jusaro, CSO
: :
: : "Marina, was it? It was not truly intimate knowledge. I read up on the embassy bombing, it has deep diplomatic reprecussions, that led me to a file on the Vulcan body. It contained notes that made me curious to know more. I also wanted to be able to pass on the facts to the Vulcan high command of what we find, before they decided to request them. I as to my official role on the ship, I am assigned as the Representive of the Federation Diplomatic Corp. I am also an expert in diplomatic impact, and I have many years in analysis and profiling. I would consider myself more of an asset for investigations, not a litigator nor do I think I would enjoy that. but as I said my primary function is to look pretty and talk nice at diplomatic functions." Alex replied he had maintained eye contact the entire time.
: :
: : Alexander Courvoisier.
:
: If that was supposed to impress the CSO, it utterly failed. "I wouldn't recommend doing any diplomacy with Zaldans Mr. Courvoisier ," Marina replied simply, her vibrant green eyes not breaking from his contact until she was done speaking.
:
: Turning to glance at the XO. "I will provide reports as necessary but I reserve the right to withhold information I deem to be sensitive unless the Captain or yourself gives me permission to share it. I absolutely /will not/ jeopardize an investigation by releasing information that should not be released prematurely. I have seen such things before and they do not end well."

Simon's hand moved up to his chin to hide the smile that crept across his face. It was obvious to him that the retired Admiral knew little about Zaldans in general and nothing about Marina in particular.

He leaned back against the wall and waited for whatever the man would come up with in reply.
