: : : : Marina listened attentively, realizing how vastly different their upbringings were. She also realized just how much she wished someone had been around for her, to stand up for her when it had mattered most. The only one who had was long dead. Although, she could admit that her cousins had surprised her with their support. "It sounds wonderful to have people you can depend on," she said softly, drinking her wine probably a little faster than was 'proper', but she didn't care at the moment. Her mind was reeling still from the conversation with her father.

: : : Simon watched her down the wine, the poured her another glass. Seizing on her words he replied, "I can't change what happened to you in the past, but if you want somebody to stand up for you, to have your back, then I'm your guy. That's what firends are for."

: : Marina accepted the second glass with a bow of her head and took a good sip. "I am glad to have you as a friend then. Though you should be warned that I am a difficult person to be friends with. Not many stick around."

: "Well, there aren't too many people like me around. I'm in it for the long haul." Simon said as he finished his first glass and poured a second for himself,"If I didn't say so already, I love a challenge."

: He debated whether he should attempt to steal another kiss, but decided that would be too pushy, so he just finished his glass. Normally he slept in the nude but decided that would definitely be a bad idea. When it was time for bed he would just replicate something.

Marina laughed. Most people didn't know she had a sense of humour, but she did. It just was a lot different than most people's she had come across. "Glutton for punishment I believe my Human grandfather would say," she said with a soft smile before drinking more wine. Part of her thought she should go easy on it, but since her and Simon agreed nothing would happen, she felt it was okay to indulge. She did trust him after all.
