: : Dawson placed a finger over her lips. "It won't happen again. Especially, while I am here." He met her eyes with his own. "No matter what, I will make damn sure it never happens again. You should never have to go through it, once, let alone again.

: His finger on her lips caused Satreya's eyes to widen slightly, and he'd feel her lips tremble sightly. She wanted to tell him that it wasn't the first time someone had changed the rules on her for their own purposes.

: Satreya didn't have to read very far to pick up what he was sending out. She wasn't sure what to make of it, and at the moment her mind wasn't prepared to deal with it. But she noted it… oh she noted it! "I had an ex-boyfriend. He was a security officer on my first posting out of the Academy. Sweet guy, soooo my type. But jealous. We argued now and again over stupid stuff and one day… he slapped me. Really hard too. Enough to knock me on my rear. I was so terrified and he just looked at me in shock, like he didn't realize he could do that. Then I kicked him out and told him I never wanted to see him outside of duty again. That should have been it, but it wasn't. I told one of the nurses what had happened and she was really worried. I naively thought it was done with, but he broke into my quarters the next day and waited for me to get off shift. He wanted to talk and I didn't want to. i yelled at him to get out and things just went down hill from there."

Satreya would be able to tell that he clearly would have loved to have a one on one chat with the man, and give a lesson on how to treat women.

: She took a deep breath and tried to shake the memory away, but of course couldn't. "My face was all bruised and cut. My right eye was swollen shut and the left hurt too. I also had a broken rib, broken arm, concussion. The only reason he didn't rape me was because I used my telekenetic abilities to throw him across the room. He cracked his skull on the wall and could have died."

The very notion that a man would go so far sickened him. Even in his lowest, he respected others.

: She shook her head. "I love people and hate them all at the same time," she said with a bitter laugh. So many times people had made her feel awful but she had always risen above it. Right now she didn't have the energy.

Dawson shook his head. "I can see why you might not be feeling to great." He then looked up at her. "Its not easy for us to go through things like that. For others to take advantage, or to abuse, or punish, or whatever. Its not easy to rise from. But, I do know that given time, you'll be in a much better place than this moment in time. Things like this don't happen throughout one's life. They happen and eventually fade."

He paused before stating, "I won't let anything like this happen to you. You deserve respect. People like this guy shouldn't be well off in society."
