: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Still looking to take a prisoner, preferably human/federation to stun/hit and then drag into a prearranged empty room. Off down a seldom used corridor. The problem would be noise control... if the prisoner started yelling... so an off the beaten path room is highly valued. Hopefully there is some sound proofing in this ship.

: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Unfortunately, most of the folks that R'han spotted were traveling in pairs, usually in a hurry to repair things. Some of the conversations that he overheard were about reconfiguring the warp drive, of potential interest as that had been what the test ship had been sent out to work on.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Rhan frowned, fate was conspiring to keep him from capturing a source of information. So be it, the knowledge gain by his sneaking lead him to the engine room. Were they to configure the warp drive that meant there would be many hands on the engines and nacelles and thus many changes for him to gum up the works - not that engineering was his specialty, but anyone could break an engine.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : There were quite a few people in engineering, attempting to figure out how to apply the technologies implemented on the test ship into a Romulan vessel, as the forms of propulsion were very different between the two.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han picked up a spanner and a tricorder and moved with purpose towards the back corner of the engineering room while staring at the tricorder 'results'. People tended not to disturb people who seemed to know what they were doing and seemed busy. He would look to follow a work team and review their work to undo... surreptitiously what they had done.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R;han
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : By blending in, R'han was able to make his way through Engineering. Unfortunately, the back corner was an area where very little work had been done, as it mostly dealt with life support systems.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Ahh, the beauty of life support. R'han opened the panel and cleaned of several connectors. He did not, however, cause any dysfunctions. Life support had far too many redundancies and warnings. If he had done anything here security would be on him in moments. After a few moments of fiddling, R;han moved towards the warp field inducers. He wanted to add a distortion in the field harmonics... something that could be detected even cloaked when at warp. Following that he would move to the impulse engines. That was something he was looking to completely sabotage.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : Unfortunately, as the ongoing modifications didn't have anything to do with the warp field harmonics, R'han was spotted and confronted by one of the Romulan engineers, "You there, what are you doing?"
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han responded in Romulan, "With all the adjustments, the panel displayed a surge... I checked..." R'han nodded to the panel. "I don't know what peaked, but it all seems to be in working order now." He made a look for yourself gesture towards the open box.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : "If you find the problem. I'll fix it."
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : The officer's eyes narrowed a bit as he took a look at the panel. Seeing that everything seemed in line, he straightened up and said, "Good work. When did you come aboard, I don't think I've seen you before?"
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : "T'var, sir. Thank you." He didn't come to attention but it was something close. R'han didn't know how formal they were on this ship. "I don't get about much." He also carefully responded to the officer without actually answering anything that might reveal that he didn't belong. "With your leave?" R'han gestured at another panel.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : The Romulan nodded and went over to the next group, shooting another suspicious glare towards R'han as he did so.
: : : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : R'han did not look back glancing down and checking the readings on the next panel. After a few moments, enough time for the officer to immerse himself in officer work, R'han pulled the panel lid and placed it behind him - thus giving him a reason to look about without seeming like he was turning for no purpose. That was far too close although not completely unexpected. His non-sabotage had ferreted out the officer that was paying attention and now provided him some sort of proof that he wasn't up to no good.
: : : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : : Scanning the area he looked for any action near the impulse engines. He would prefer not to have another encounter. Once can easily be ignored but if you get to two or three they start remembering your face.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : The section where the impulse controls were at was empty, as most of the work was being done on the warp engines, and no issues had been reported about the impulse engines themselves.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : While at his current panel he took a power cell out of his largest tool. He hooked two lines to the two terminals. When ready he walked over to the impulse controls and pulled the board covering the inducers. He connected each end to the initiator for the impulse drives. It might take a minute or two but when power ran to the inducers it would overload the cell and bang. Probably not a huge explosion but it would knock out the impulse drives for a few moments at the very least.
: : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : "You there, T'Var." came the voice of the officer from earlier, moments after the panel was closed back up. "Go up to the 2nd deck. There is some damage there that needs to be taken care of from when we took the Federation vessel."
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : R'han nodded silently. Yes he would take care of some things on the second deck. Hell if they gave him enough time he would have this ship blow up on its one. R'han picked up his tools and moved to the second deck. No problem fixing the minor damage to sabotage the rest of the ship.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : R'han
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : bump
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : The Romulan ship suddenly went into a high state of alert, although R'han would be unable to determine what the cause was from the turbolift on his way to the second deck.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : -GM
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Ahh the beauty of panic, although that might mean that he was about to be trapped on a shielded ship, at least temporarily. His little present would blow out the impulse controls and engines for a few minutes if he was lucky or a few moments if he was unlucky. What he would need to do is plan a cloak or shield sabotage. He glanced over the railing from the second engineering deck. The cloaking device still was too well protected for him to sabotage with the materials he had, but the shields.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : That would only take cutting the power relay or blowing up the transfer controls. No problem if he was willing to sacrifice his phaser.... which he was. From the second floor he would find the computer access or power junction for the shields... one phaser on overload later.... kaboom.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : R'han
: : : : :
: : : : : Unfortunately, the second deck had mostly secondary systems. Shield control and power were down on the main engineering floor. While they were in a slightly more remote area, people were headed in that direction since the ship had gone into a high state of alert.
: : : : :
: : : : : -GM
: : : :
: : : : R"han frowned, setting off his phaser here likely would have the desired effect, since it would blow up half the engineering compartment, but there were no guarantees and he needed some sort of temporal certainty. He tapped his fingers against the railing... A phaser on overload would have to be carefully placed and concealed... the whining always tipped people off.
: : : :
: : : : New plan, the Romulans used a quantum singularity for power, but the transfer still required a cooling process. R'han reached for some quick drying plastasteel. He would find the panel closest to the coolent conduit put his phaser in, plastateel it inside set it to overload and the plasta steel over it. No one would be able to get it off or turn it off.
: : : :
: : : : Of course he would have about twenty seconds to get out of engineering and into an escape pod.
: : : :
: : : : r'han
: : :
: : : The chief engineer of the Romulan ship, having heard from the bridge to be on the lookout from intruders (based on information heard from the test ship), noticed R'han grabbing the plastateel and, "You there, what did you say your name was again? Where did you join us?"
: : :
: : : It was clear to R'han from the tone of voice from the CE that this had gone past suspicion to outright hostility.
: : :
: : : -GM
: :
: : Well now the gig was up. He certainly didn't have enough information to make a coherent excuse nor was he in a setting that he could simply stun the engineer. "The captain asked me to join this ship. It seemed that we were a little short handed." As always the appearance of authority without actually giving any information. R'han put a quizzical look on his face as he spun the bottle of plastisteel in his hand. Almost willing the engineer to look at the moving object in his hand. "You want me to fix the damage or not," He kept the spinning bottle in plain sight as he turned slightly covering his other hand as he reached for his phaser.
: :
: : He did as quick scan of who was where and were the weapons locker and the comm panels were. He would need to keep people away from that.
: :
: : R'han
:
: "I want you to stop lying to me." said the CE angrily. "The Captain would have told me about anyone he was sending down here to help, and he didn't tell me anything." He reached for the plastasteel bottle.
:
: R'han would notice that everyone was moving to battlestations, which on this Romulan vessel required stopping at a weapons locker to get a sidearm before heading to their station.
:
: -GM

R'han handed him the bottle with one hand hand and phasered him with the other. (Depending on the noise level of the engineering room)

R'han caught the chief engineer and called for a medical team. "He passed out, We need a medical team to engineering immediately."

or

As the engineer dropped R'han knew that the gig was up but confusion was his friend. "We have an intruder... She's shot the chief..... Call for security... She's loose on Deck 8. Get medical up here." R'han would 'run after the hostile.' "She went this way.... help me."
