: : : : : : : : Jira watched the man, who seemed very animated about food, "I can afford to, yes." she said and rose from her chair. She flexed her hands a bit, having unclenched them, but they stung a bit. She'd not doubts about passing the evaluation, it'd not been her first nor her last such. "Lead on, counselor." she said.

: : : : : : : "Excellent." Adam replied as he headed towards the door. "Just don't hate me if you don't like the restaurants decor. I told my fiance the mid twentieth century earth theme was kinda cheesy, but she insisted, and who am I to argue with the woman who stole my heart."

: : : : : : : In 10 minutes they arrived at the diner. As they entered, Jira would find the restuarant to have black and white checkered floors, red and white booths, a long bar with stools accompaning it where people could sit and chat with the cooks while eating, and a big jukebox blaring out old songs from centuries past. The wall was decorated with images of Earth Actors and pictures of machinery once known as automobiles.

: : : : : : : "Where would you care to sit, Lt. Governor? A booth or at the counter there." Adam asked as he waved to golden haired Casey who was beaming at him from behind the counter.

: : : : : : Jira looked around, the atmosphere was very foreign to her and seemed....garishly starchy with black and white. She much preferred earth tones but that might be due to her Bajoran upbringing. She gave the CNS a reassuring smile and wondered if Symon would like the decor. "It's....nice..." she managed to say and picked an empty booth to sit in. "I must admit I'm not sure about the decor...but then I don't know anything about Earth history."

: : : : : "Yeah, it could use a splash of color. Oddly enough, it's sort of got it's own fan club here on the colony now. Some people are obsessed with this period of Earth History. It never really appealed to me though." Adam admitted as he took a seat opposite the Lt. Governor. His face suddenly brightened as he watched his blone haired fiancee come towards them. "Perhaps you could talk to Casey and convince her to change a few things."

: : : : : "Did I hear my name?" Casey asked as she wrapped her free arm around Adam's neck and placed her hand on his shoulder. "You look very handsome today, sorry I left before you woke up."

: : : : : "I was just telling the Lieutenant Governor here, Commander Silverster, that you have the worst food on the colony and we should make a dash for it when we can." Adam teased her.

: : : : : "Oh! Where are my manners." Casey exclaimed with wide eyes as she took her hand away from Adam and stood in a more professional manner. "Pleased to meet you Lt. Governor, I am honored you have chosen to eat here. Anything you want is on the house for your first visit. I am Casey Thompson, the owner of this little diner."

: : : : Jira looked up at Casey and gave her a smile, "Thank you, I'm sure your food is fine..." she said and glanced at the CNS. "What do you suggest?" She asked as she perused the menu.

: : : "I enjoy the jalepeno chipotle burger and chili spiced onion rings." Adam suggested. "Although that is quite spicy, I am not sure if hot foods are your thing. If not, the Coney Island dog with the cheesy potato skins is another good thing."

: : : "The soup of the day is Beef Barley. You can also get a bowl of soup with our sandwich of the day, which is a BLT sandwich on texas toast." Casey offered.

: : Jira thought about it for a bit, scanning over the menu as she did so. Her eyes flickered in judgement and she folded it and put it on the table. "I'll have the soup, and a hamburger, rare." she answered. "Do you have that?" she asked.

: "Of course, we cook our meals ourselves, it's not replicated." Casey replied. "At least we try our best not to use replicated ingredients. When there is a shortage we sometimes have no choice, especially when shipping costs are high. I am hoping that one day OED V will have a community garden of sorts."

: "I keep telling you Casey, I can build you a back garden. I did grew up on a ranch and my mom kept a huge vegetable garden." Adam smiled at his fiance.

"Actually a public garden wouldn't be a bad idea, I may pass that by the Governor, if you don't mind." Jira mused. Though she couldn't grow anything if her life depended on it, she remembered that Symon was somewhat good at it himself. That made her think of Sirius IV and her daughter that was buried there. She frowned, her eyes clouding over for a moment with grief of the loss of Niri, as her memory often left a pain in her heart. She managed to recover quickly enough, after so many years...it was a typical response. "If I got the Governor to agree, would you use it?" She asked.
