: : : : Hours later, the Resolution finally arrived at Deep Space Nine. Signalling to the station their wish to dock, the ship was given berthing at Lower Pylon 1. It was always an intricate dance, docking. Truly, one had to be close to the scene of the action to truly appreciate just how delicate it was. Obviously the station didn't move, so it was up to the helmsman of the ship to angle the ship just right and ease the ship close enough to make contact, without ramming the pylon. Of course there were micro-tractor beams at the pylons to assist in the hook-up process, but most qualified pilots liked to try it on their own. It was a test of sorts and one that usually had a stash of latinum on the line too.

: : : : In this case, the USS Resolution glided in with all the elegance and grace befitting a prima ballerina, earning on operations ensign a whole bar of latinum for his optimism.
: : : :
: : : : As the umbilical connection was created, the airlock system kicked in, providing safe passageway between the ship and the station.
: : : :
: : : : On the orders of business at DS9, was the transfer of the Cardassian war criminal and the boarding the Resolution's new CO. Not so far away though, an Ambassador was finding a very large migraine coming on…
: : : :
: : : : OOC: I do believe that give you room to finish your side-sim Joe, and for you to have Tulavek board Harley. I'll be easing into the sim today or tomorrow, depending on how well I feel. But go ahead and have meetings/evals and all that good stuff.

: : : The XO stood up. He turned to Lt Andrews and said "Lt I want you to oversee the transfer of the prisoner and arrival of the new CO. I'm going to visit my parents shortly, order shore leave on board DS9 for those who want it, and Bajor for the Bajoran crew members." Turning to the science station, he asked "Lt Jusaro, do you think you're ready for the big chair? I'm placing you in command until the new CO is aboard and please let me know when he is. If there's nothing else, please see to it." his decision to place Marina in charge was his way of showing his faith in her following their earlier conversation. He wouldn't be placing her in charge if he didn't trust and respect her and he wanted her to know that.
: : :
: : "Yes Commander," Jusaro replied, a little surprised but taking things in stride. "I will inform you as soon as the CO is on board."
: :
: : : He then exited the bridge and head to his quarters to pick up his bag before heading to Bajor.

: : : OOC: This works out well as I need to take an LOA for a few days...Joe
: :
: : OOC: Going to split the thread from here. Those on the ship (bridge) can reply to my post here, but if others are on DS9, you can split it and reply earlier.

: : Suddenly the one in Command (but not the first time she had watched over the bridge while docked), Marina moved over to the command chair and sat down, noting a strange feeling come over her. It was the recognition that one way or another in her life, she was bound to end up in situations where she had authority. Though she had wanted nothing more to hide out in labs after the Academy, Marina Jusaro was born to a life of certain privilege. That she hid out in Star-fleet from it, didn't make it less true or remove her from her responsibilities. Though those around her couldn't possibly know this was all going through her head, it weighed on her tremendously.

: Nadie smiled at Marina "How about dinner at Quark's later?" She asked standing up from her station "I think I'm going to make sure everything is quiet down in main engineering and go do some shopping."

: CE

Jusaro looked genuinely surprised by the offer. Aside from Simon, no one on the current senior staff had ever invited her for anything social, not that she blamed them really. "Oh, uh, yes, let's do that. Say 1900 hours? I should be able to slip away for a bit then."

OOC: If people want to keep busy until the sim really gets going, feel free to side-sim on DS9. :)

Jusaro, CSO
