: : : : : Alexander looked up at the sound of the chime, and nodded to himself, "Enter" He was dressed simply in a black suit that was reminscent of the uniform he had worn for years, but bore no oranmentation. As the door opened he faced it with a warm and open smile. "Good you made it, Care to start with a drink, Milady?", Alexander said as he took in the woman that was before him, not in uniform, she was rather striking, but that was not part of this evening.

: : : : Milady… how oddly appropriate, not that he likely would know that. "If you insist," she replied coolly,

: : : : : Alexander was moving towards the side bar, that held ice and glasses as well as decanters with unlabelled contents. He dropped two peeled frozen wedges of lime. into a glass, then a splash of tonic, before adding something clear from one of the decanters, then stirring the entire affiar with a cinnamon stick. "That is a good look for you, I think we tend to grow to used to the uniform instead of regular clothing."

: : : : "These are appropriate garments for a semi-formal occasion on Zalda," she said simply. "When I am off-duty, I do not wear my uniform." Marina still stood a few paces inside the door and watched him prepare the drinks. She was trying to not be tense, but still felt very wary of this man.

: : :
: : : Alexander looked at her, "I expected nothing less, look we got off on the wrong foot, and I would like to think that is due to us being very alike. " He crossed across the room and offered her her drink, "We both want what we want, and willing to defend our positions how ever we need to. Shall we drink to figuring out how to build a bridge and a comprimise?" that was as close as he was likely to get to offering an apology.

: : : Alexander Courvoisier.
: :
: : Marina accepted the drink dubiously but took a sip anyway. She wasn't sure she agreed that they were alike, but considering she didn't know the man, she'd have to wait for more information to surface. And it was a good thing he didn't go so far as to offer an actual apology, as she would have balked at that, but even now, she wasn't sure he understood what it was like to deal with someone like her. "There are some things that can't be compromised," she said pointedly. "And you already made it clear you'd go over my head if I didn't provide you what you wanted, regardless of my reasoning, so I'm not sure what compromise you are offering."

: OOC: Marina, you go girl, kick his butt. Alexnder Keep your hands to yourself creepy old man, would hate to give you a bloody nose, you being an Admiral and all. Simon/Chris

Alexander nodded as the match had now actually been opened. "More to the point what I said was, that if you tell me know and I feel that I need to information anyway for whatever reason I deem, I will seek alternative methods to getting said information. If your reason is valid enough I will wait like anyone else. I take the integrity of your work as seriously as you do, but I take my own work just as serious. If I need to break the rules I would rather know why it might be a bad idea to do so. You do not have to like me, but we are stuck working together from time to time on this ship. The least we can try and make it is a friendly rivalry, if we are not to eventually become friends that will work well together." Alexander sipped his drink, and smiled. He had re-read all the information he could get his hands on about the CSO prior to her arrival, as well as brushed up on Zaladan protocols. That is why he kept the charm to a minimum, and was being more straight forward than normal, maybe he had treated them as Zaldans he would still be married to one of his five wives.
