: : : : : : Carmen searched his face, her fatigue reflected back to him. It was hard for her to articulate her fears about her revelations, that it would be too much for Joe to handle. It wasn't that she thought Joe couldn't handle it, but they had never faced anything like this. Compared to the whole ramifications of her captivity, she almost missed the pre-kidney-transplant and nearly dying days. That suddenly seemed so much simpler than what they were facing now. There were so many unspoken things sitting underneath her surface, but she was content to leave them there for now, maybe for always. "What a pair we are, huh?" she asked with a tiny smile.
: : : : : Joe just smiled wanly . There were a lot of things on his mind as well . Things better not talked about until later."Yeah," he said quietly. But all we can do is take one day at a time and cross each bridge when we come to it. "
: : : : :
: : : : She slipped her hand into his, entwining their fingers. These hands of his she knew; their texture, their strength, the gentleness when he touched her. "I'm here Joe. I wasn't lying when I said I spent everyday trying to get back to you. Had I wanted to just end the misery, I could have found a way. But I couldn't imagine a reality where you weren't there in my life and a dammit I wanted that life! I /want/ that life. No matter how messed up or crazy I might be to live it. I love you Joe and I have no plans to go anywhere without you. Got it?"
: : : :
: : : Joe sat dumbfounded. What do you say to something like that? That was as nice and as scary all at the same time as when his first wife had told him that she wanted his baby.
: : : Joe just shook his head and said in a choked voice . "Well am I gonna say to that? Yeah I got it boss ."
: : :
: : : Joe
: : A smile tugged at the corners of Carmen's mouth. "Hey, I'm not your boss anymore, remember? Unless you prefer it that way..." she said in a slightly teasing voice and in that one simple remark and expression seemed just a little bit more like her old self.
: :
:
: Joe laughed a he recalled a line from a play he'd seen one time.
: “Why are our bodies soft, and weak, and smooth
: But that our soft conditions and our hearts
: Should well agree with our external parts?”
:
: Joe laughed again and simply wrapped Carmen in his arm ."I'll take you any way I can get you fair Kate. " he laughed.
:
: Lt. Joe Milligan COS

Carmen blinked and was a mixture of surprised, amused and uncertain. "You know, go figure I'd get you in life. /Someone/ has to be able to surprise me. Somehow I never saw you as a Shakespeare fan Joe. But don't worry, the shrew has been well and tamed," she said with a fair bit of bitterness in her tone. Maybe that was just for now, or maybe she would be this way always.

Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes! on Starbase 202

: Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
: Ending her comm with Joe, Carmen moved out of bed swiftly. She was regaining her strength little by little, spending a little time every day training. It was going to take a bit to build up her speed and agility and right now she was trying to not think about how much of a disadvantage it was for her. The one plus was that Liil wasn't exact fit and healthy either, so maybe things would be more even. For if there was one thing Carmen knew without a doubt, it was that somehow, one way or another, Kemmis Liil wasn't going to leave 202 without Carmen.
:
: Sprinting across her and Joe's quarters, she locked the door and then leaned against it, breathing heavily from the sudden exertion. She felt a wave of fatigue, but pushed it away as she moved back into the bedroom. Currently, she was dressed for bed with shorts and a tank, which wouldn't do at all. She changed into black trousers and a black long sleeved top (her usual off duty attire these days) and slipped on socks and her boots.
:
: Pulling out a box of items, she slipped the rough hewn palm sized blade that Marcus gave her into her boot. That she still had it was rather an astonishing feat considering that anything she had taken with her when she left 202 was gone. But she had left this item behind. Perhaps because Marcus gave it to her and she thought it was time to leave it, and him, behind. Or perhaps she just really didn't need it at the time. But regardless, it had been in her crates, hidden away in a small box along with her rosary. Yes, the irony wasn't lost on her there.
:
: Speaking of which, she moved over to where she kept the special chain of beads and cross and opened it, running her fingers over the beads and she closed her eyes and sent out a prayer. She had made it this far for only one reason that she could tell and it wouldn't do to forget that fact now.
:
: Grabbing her standard issue phaser, she was as ready as she could be. Standing in the middle of their quarters, Carmen thought over Joe's comm. He never replied back. Which meant he was going after Lill alone. She sighed. It wasn't that she didn't think Joe could handle himself. It was that she knew Kemmis too well and Joe did not. Joe didn't know how extremely clever he was and also how merciless he could be. If given the opportunity, Kemmis would not hesitate to kill Joe. And Carmen wasn't entirely certain that Liil didn't know about her and Joe. She certainly kept that tidbit to herself, despite his taunting and accurate guess that she was involved with someone. It was dumb luck that he had even figured out that much and it was only because the supposedly Human man was a telepath. Kemmis was definitely more than he seemed and Carmen couldn't forget for a second that he might somehow have been aware of everything that went on in Medical. If he had been, he knew more than enough.
:
: Standing there, armed, she realized that she was trapped in here. Things were going to go down. One way or another.
:
: Commander Delphia, CIO

As she waited though, something occurred to her and she moved over to the console. Carmen typed in a very simple message and sent it coded to Harrison and Orrala. It simply said, //Hunting Time.\\ She knew that Joe wasn't going to call them, despite her suggestion, and right now, she wanted others who had an inkling of what Liil was truly capable of on his trail as well. But something pricked on her senses and she wasn't entirely sure what it was. Her empathy wasn't telling her much but her instincts were something else. Her hand moved to her weapon, her heart racing. But she forced herself to calm down and focus. Hyper-vigilance got you killed.

But locked in her quarters, Carmen had no way to know that the situation was already more critical than she knew. Because lying outside the door, was Lieutenant Orrala Seay. Her neck was twisted at an unnatural angle and her dark eyes barely, wide open, had had barely anytime to register any surprise.

Commander Delphia, CIO

: : : : : Posted by Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (Chief of Operations) in Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters
: : : : : ((Following takes place after Carmen's debriefing, and before the prisoner escapes. Figured Carmen and James could have their chat in his quarters))
: : : :
: : : : OOC: That works. The prisoner escaping it just after the incident with the dopplegangers and I had the debriefing only a few days before.
: : : :
: : : : : James sat in his quarters, adding parts to a device on his coffee table. It was covered with parts for a model, but since the arrival of the SI Admiral, James had cleared the table off, and replacing them with mechanical parts from the replicator. The device was disk shaped, and could easily fit in the palm of the hand. His attention went from the device, and to his PADD, checking over the instructions on the display. He could have had the replicator materialize what he was building, but he wanted to build it by hand. Pressing a button on the device, the emitter in the center lit up, and small image appeared, too small for the eye to see. "Still not right," James spoke, picking the PADD back up, to see where he went wrong.
: : : : :
: : : : : Since the Admiral's arrival, James was waiting for when his part in the debriefing would start. At the same time he was trying to think of a way to show Carmen he was there if she needed his help, or support. He thought this might do it, but wasn't entirely sure, and at this point it seemed like it might never be ready. He was starting to think maybe he should try something else. "Computer, what's the time?" James asked.
: : : : :
: : : : : "1200 hours, Galactic time," The Computer answered. James sat on the couch, staring at the holoemitter and thought maybe a lunch break was in order. He picked up the emitter with his hand, studying it just a little more. Everything seemed right now that Delphia was back, but he couldn't help but think, maybe this was only a minor pit stop for her on her way back to Starfleet Command.
: : : : :
: : : : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: : : :
: : : : It was about forty-five minutes later when the chime sounded at his door. Standing there was Carmen herself, dressed in simple black clothes that didn't cling much, as if she was trying to not draw too much attention to her body. She wore a thoughtful expression, though she still looked tired. Even though technically she was back on duty, she wasn't in uniform given that she was on light duty and only working a little bit so far.
: : : :
: : : : Commander Delphia, CIO
: : :
: : : ((OOC: For a moment I thought I needed to reconsider whether this was in his quarters or sickbay))
: : :
: : : James heard the chime as he was finishing his lunch, and getting curious he stood up, and slowly made his way to the door. Tapping a button on the side, he watched the door open to see Carmen standing on the other side. She seemed a little out of character, seeing as he was usually the one not wearing a uniform, but who was he to point it out. "Hey, come on in," He spoke with a friendly smile as he stepped away from the door frame, "Don't get a lot of visitors."
: : :
: : Carmen quietly stepped in. "I hope I'm not bothering you," she said softly.
: :
: : : The coffee table still had mechanical parts scattered on it, along with a few tools. Stepping inside his quarters, Carmen would find a model replica of a freighter at the corner near the door, followed with a model of a Norway-class frigate, USS Bon Homme Richard, near the replicator, and the 202 to the left of the door leading to the bedroom. On one of the walls she'd find three display cases, Two were nearly full of award with pictures of his parents in them, while the third containing a picture of James in a Cadet Uniform, was practically empty. "Would you like a drink, or something to snack on?" James spoke being a good host.
: : :
: : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: :
: : Surveying the place, her eidetic memory casually noted every detail, Delphia seemed momentarily at a loss. Distracted by his inquiry, she turned to face him. "Oh, uh, water please, thank you." She fell silent and waited for him to do what he was going to do, pondering over what she was going to say. Word flowed better then they had at first, but sometimes she was very aware of their power, both spoken and unsaid.
:
: "Water it is," He replied, making his way to the replicator, and getting a glass of water for his guest, and an iced tea for himself, "You're not bothering me at all, just not used to having visitors."
: :
Carmen accepted the water with a quiet thank you and took a sip, letting the cool liquid slip down her throat. At least her swallowing was getting smoother. She didn't quite have that worried feeling that she would choke.

: : "I had my debriefing, as you know. I think they have more than enough information, so I wouldn't be too worried about the Admiral summoning you.," she said at length.
: :
: : Commander Delphia, CIO
:
: "I'm glad to hear this might all be winding up," James spoke, handing Carmen the glass of water, and offering her a seat, "I had a feeling that they weren't going to summon me, seeing as there wasn't much I could say that they wouldn't learn talking to you." He took a seat on the couch, and grabbed the holoemitter he was working on, He pushed the switch, but a broken image was showing that was hard to make out. "Something of a gift," He explained, turning it over and opening the back, "Once I can get it to work. So how are you adjusting after being gone so long?"
:
: Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)

For a moment, Delphia just stood there, considering him. Winding up. As if it would all blow past and be nothing but a memory. Maybe it would or maybe it wouldn't, but a lot had to happen before that could even be a possibility. She sipped her water, having observed the emitter and his comment. A gift? For whom? But that wasn't the most pressing bit of conversation at the moment. "I was only gone a couple months," she said idly, but even she knew that it might as well been two years. "I'm... managing. Mostly annoyed at my body and having to get back in shape. Food is interesting as well," Carmen said, finally taking a seat not too far from him, but giving space as well.

: The real issue at this point was that at this point they didn't know how much of a head start Liil had on them, though it couldn't have been exceeding amounts of time considering he escaped from Medical. Considering the man had been in a coma as far as they knew after a life threatening injury, how far could he really have gotten? What were his priorities?
:
: Commander Delphia, CIO

Joe rushed down the corridor. He knew if he were the man he wouldn't want to risk a confrontation. Not in a weakened state anyway. Joe knew that the only thing he'd be thinking about was escape. Of course Joe thought. That might have risks associated with it too. That and the man wasn't the logical sort from what Joe had heard.
He then bitterly faced a reality. If he were the man he'd go for the one person on the station he thought he might have some control over. And even though Carmen had tried to kill him Joe suspected that given anything near a level playing field the man would be able to frighten Carm and perhaps force her to help him. This was not a new concept . Those captured and held for long periods often acted in this fashion. Yes if he were Liil he would try to find out where Carmen was. And finding her he would try to force her to help him escape.
"Computer! " Joe poke. "Report any inquiries about the whereabouts of Carmen Delphia to me as soon as they happen and I'll want to know the location that the inquiry was made!"
Having come to the end of this corridor Joe took another that would lead him in the direction of his own cabin. =/\= OPs ! I want a shut down of all shuttle bays as part of the present security breach until the escaped prisoner has been found!=/\=

: : : : : : Posted by Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (Chief of Operations) in Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters
: : : : : : ((Following takes place after Carmen's debriefing, and before the prisoner escapes. Figured Carmen and James could have their chat in his quarters))
: : : : :
: : : : : OOC: That works. The prisoner escaping it just after the incident with the dopplegangers and I had the debriefing only a few days before.
: : : : :
: : : : : : James sat in his quarters, adding parts to a device on his coffee table.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Since the Admiral's arrival, James was waiting for when his part in the debriefing would start. At the same time he was trying to think of a way to show Carmen he was there if she needed his help, or support. He thought this might do it, but wasn't entirely sure, and at this point it seemed like it might never be ready. He was starting to think maybe he should try something else. "Computer, what's the time?" James asked.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : "1200 hours, Galactic time," The Computer answered.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: : : : :
: : : : : It was about forty-five minutes later when the chime sounded at his door.
: : : : :
: : : : : Commander Delphia, CIO
: : : :
: : : : ((OOC: For a moment I thought I needed to reconsider whether this was in his quarters or sickbay))
: : : :
: : : : James heard the chime as he was finishing his lunch, and getting curious he stood up, and slowly made his way to the door.
: : : :
: : : Carmen quietly stepped in. "I hope I'm not bothering you," she said softly.
: : :
: : : : The coffee table still had mechanical parts scattered on it, along with a few tools.
: : : :
: : : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: : :
: : : Surveying the place, her eidetic memory casually noted every detail, Delphia seemed momentarily at a loss. Distracted by his inquiry, she turned to face him. "Oh, uh, water please, thank you." She fell silent and waited for him to do what he was going to do, pondering over what she was going to say. Word flowed better then they had at first, but sometimes she was very aware of their power, both spoken and unsaid.
: :
: : "Water it is," He replied, making his way to the replicator, and getting a glass of water for his guest, and an iced tea for himself, "You're not bothering me at all, just not used to having visitors."
: : :
: Carmen accepted the water with a quiet thank you and took a sip, letting the cool liquid slip down her throat. At least her swallowing was getting smoother. She didn't quite have that worried feeling that she would choke.
:
: : : "I had my debriefing, as you know. I think they have more than enough information, so I wouldn't be too worried about the Admiral summoning you.," she said at length.
: : :
: : : Commander Delphia, CIO
: :
: : "I'm glad to hear this might all be winding up," James spoke, handing Carmen the glass of water, and offering her a seat, "I had a feeling that they weren't going to summon me, seeing as there wasn't much I could say that they wouldn't learn talking to you." He took a seat on the couch, and grabbed the holoemitter he was working on, He pushed the switch, but a broken image was showing that was hard to make out. "Something of a gift," He explained, turning it over and opening the back, "Once I can get it to work. So how are you adjusting after being gone so long?"
: :
: : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
:
: For a moment, Delphia just stood there, considering him.
:
: Commander Delphia, CIO

"With time I'm sure eating will be like riding a bike," James spoke taking a sip of his tea, and after making a couple of adjustments activated the emitter. The image was still a blob, but it looked better than before. Turning it off he set it on the table, getting the impression he might have been rude to his guest. He looked at Carmen, and for a moment seemed to have trouble thinking of something to say. He would take a breath, open his mouth as if to say something, but would hesitate. "Out of curiosity, what made you go on this assignment?" He finally managed to ask, "Intel could have sent anyone there. I doubt they could be short on undercover agents, so why go?"

Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)

Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes! on Starbase 202

: Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
: : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
: : Ending her comm with Joe, Carmen moved out of bed swiftly.
: :
: : Sprinting across her and Joe's quarters, she locked the door and then leaned against it, breathing heavily from the sudden exertion.
: :
: : Pulling out a box of items, she slipped the rough hewn palm sized blade that Marcus gave her into her boot.
: :
: : Speaking of which, she moved over to where she kept the special chain of beads and cross and opened it, running her fingers over the beads and she closed her eyes and sent out a prayer. She had made it this far for only one reason that she could tell and it wouldn't do to forget that fact now.
: :
: : Grabbing her standard issue phaser, she was as ready as she could be.
: :
: : Standing there, armed, she realized that she was trapped in here. Things were going to go down. One way or another.
: :
: : Commander Delphia, CIO
:
: As she waited though, something occurred to her and she moved over to the console.
:
: But locked in her quarters, Carmen had no way to know that the situation was already more critical than she knew. Because lying outside the door, was Lieutenant Orrala Seay. Her neck was twisted at an unnatural angle and her dark eyes barely, wide open, had had barely anytime to register any surprise.
:
: Commander Delphia, CIO

As Joe turned the corner down the corridor he saw the crumpled figure lying outside the door to Carmen 's and his cabin. It was far off just a seeming pile of debris. Except that Joe knew instinctively that it wasn't . He knew perfectly well what it was.
Joe pulled back . His back to the wall barely breathing. He could feel his pulse racing inside his body and felt a strange calmness come over him. Everything seemed frozen in time for a moment. It was a position Joe had been in before . One which he had not only survived but savored to some extent. It was that clarity of thought and purpose which comes to you before battle. When you know in your heart that within a very short time you will kill your enemy or he will kill you. These are the only things which can happen . The only options available.
Joe held his phaser at the ready. It was his opinion that the body was being used as bait. Evidently this Liil had found out where they lived from someone. Rather than trying to force his way into their quarters he had left a dad body laying there in the hope that people would show up and that in the commotion Carmen would open their door. Joe gave him credit. He wasn't stupid. If Joe's instincts were right there would be another dead body in a quarters somewhere near to their own . A place where he could come out quickly and grab Carmen. The trick now was how to flush him into the open?

  Lt. Joe Milligan COS

: : : : : : : Kosandra rode the six levels to the ops deck silently. The doors parted in front of her to revile the command center operating on low power levels. With more trepidation than she had when she stepped foot on this deck earlier this morning she entered the OPS nerve center. See looked to the other OPS officer. "The COO is in sick bay and will be temporarily out of service." She said addressing the fellow operations officer. "I am acting in his stead."
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : "I need a stationwide status report as soon as possible." she stated. being stuck in that lift she was out of touch with everything that had happened. She moved to the COO's board and pulled up the layout of the station she barely knew. Indicators flashed in several colors indications of power loss, deliberate or otherwise.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : The boarders attacked the Chief, how many others lay injured or worse. The captain would want that information as quick as possible.
: : : : : : Adam entered the Operations Deck a few moments later and settled behind the science station. He was running a Diagnostic of the Sensors and navigational bouy array. As well as setting all the early warning sensor bouys to track the particle. His external burst of anger had subsided but he was still discontented with the outcome. He started at his station for a second, then turned and left the Ops deck with a sense of urgency. His back up data pylon, he hoped the other him had not tampered or taken it.
: : : : : Kosandra waited for the information fro the ops officer, meanwhile, she attempted to calculate the apparent destination of the fleeing ship using the ion trial.
: : : : One of the Operations Specialist Finley reported to the Operations Deck, and made his way over to Kosandra. The Klingon handed her the PADD in his hand, and stood at Attention. "Power is slowly being restored in the following areas," Finley reported, pointing to some of the areas shown on the PADD's layout of the 202, "Some of the Technicians are checking the main computer core to determine what else the 'princess of darkness', and her goons might have done."
We do not want to destroy evidence security may need or trip any devices they may have left in their wake."
: : "Aye ma'am, Medical and OPS will get all the TLC they need," Finley replied, making a mental list of what the Acting COO wanted the department to prioritize, "Internal Sensors should be up soon with some of the engineers working on that."
What do you think we should work on next?"
: Ensign Kosandra (aCOO)

"Honestly ma'am, I'd say the Shield Grid, in case someone decides to attack us while we're weak," Chuck spoke, after a moment of thought, and stood at ease, "Security has it's hands full making sure the station's secure, the last thing they need is more intruders."

: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Adam entered the Operations Deck a few moments later and settled behind the science station.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : Kosandra waited for the information fro the ops officer, meanwhile, she attempted to calculate the apparent destination of the fleeing ship using the ion trial.
: : : : : : ensign Kosandra (aCOO)
: : : : : One of the Operations Specialist Finley reported to the Operations Deck, and made his way over to Kosandra.
: : : : :
: : : : : PO3 Chuck Finley (OPS)
: : : :
: : : : "Very good Mr. Finley. Have engineering prioritize Medical and OPS and we need the internal sensor grid back up next." she ordered. "Oh, and caution them to be on there toes for any gifts they may have left behind. We do not want to destroy evidence security may need or trip any devices they may have left in their wake."
: : : :
: : : "Aye ma'am, Medical and OPS will get all the TLC they need," Finley replied, making a mental list of what the Acting COO wanted the department to prioritize, "Internal Sensors should be up soon with some of the engineers working on that."
: : :
: : "At ease before you strain something." she ordered. "I am going to ask you for you opinion since you have been on this station longer than I have. What do you think we should work on next?"
: : Ensign Kosandra (aCOO)
:
: "Honestly ma'am, I'd say the Shield Grid, in case someone decides to attack us while we're weak," Chuck spoke, after a moment of thought, and stood at ease, "Security has it's hands full making sure the station's secure, the last thing they need is more intruders."
:
: PO3. Chuck Finley (OPS)

"Agreed. Let's make it so." Kosandra stated in a manner so calm it could have been someone having a casual conversation about lunch. "It is always good to have experienced shipmates around you at crunch time." she said with a smile. "Thank you."
: : : : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Corridor behind medical complex Joe hot on the trail.
: : : : : Posted by Lieutenant Joe Milligan (Chief of Security) in Corridor behind medical complex Joe hot on the trail.
: : : : : Only a few moments after viewing the taped Joe was stalking down the corridor behind the medical complex. He looked where the security camera should be and saw that it had been tampered with. He'd had every intention of taking care of this himself. He then wondered just for a moment if he shouldn't call for help. It would be professional. But Joe remembered what Carmen had told him and he'd never been real professional anyway so.
: : : : : He went down the hallway at a quick trot . Fast enough to cover ground quickly but slow enough to let his eyes take in everything along the way .
: : : : :
: : : : : Lt. Joe Milligan COS
: : : :
: : : : Aside from the obvious fact that the security cameras outside this critical area were non operational, there was no signs of anything out of the ordinary.
: : : :
: : : : But then an urgent comm came in from Gina again. =/\= Tran to Milligan. Sir, be advised, the prisoner is likely armed. Ortega's phaser is missing. =/\=
: : : :
: : : : ~Lt. (j.g) Gina Tran, Nurse
: : :
: : : Oddly enough the only response this brought from Joe was a grin to his face. Finally he replied to Tran saying,=/\= Thank you Lieutenant.=/\=
: : : Then he tapped his comm again saying=/\= Attention all security personnel , we have an escaped prisoner roaming the station. His name is Kemmis Liil . You should all have picture ID's available to you from when he was placed in sickbay. This person is already charged with kidnap of a starfleet officer , and two counts of assault and attempted murder of starfleet officers. If spotted he is to be shot on sight. I repeat shot on sight. Do not, I repeat do not attempt to apprehend while still conscious. If necessary you may interpret this as a shoot to kill order. Milligan out!=/\=
: : :
: : : Lt. Joe Milligan COS
: :
: : The real issue at this point was that at this point they didn't know how much of a head start Liil had on them, though it couldn't have been exceeding amounts of time considering he escaped from Medical. Considering the man had been in a coma as far as they knew after a life threatening injury, how far could he really have gotten? What were his priorities?
: :
: : Commander Delphia, CIO
:
: Joe rushed down the corridor.
: He then bitterly faced a reality.
: "Computer! " Joe poke. "Report any inquiries about the whereabouts of Carmen Delphia to me as soon as they happen and I'll want to know the location that the inquiry was made!"
: Having come to the end of this corridor Joe took another that would lead him in the direction of his own cabin. =/\= OPs ! I want a shut down of all shuttle bays as part of the present security breach until the escaped prisoner has been found!=/\=
:
: Lt. Joe Miligan COS

Em began working on trying to locate the missing patient from Sickbay. She began scanning the area around sickbay for the last bio readings that they had for him. She looked at Tran "Get Ortega on a bed and I'll be right over." She said and then headed over to the bed to treat Ortega's injuries.

CMO

: : : : : : : : : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Medical Complex- The Prisoner Escapes!
: : : : : : : : : It was both a testament to Carmen's self defence skills, and the medical team's healing skills that the man Carmen had stabbed had not only come very close to death, but survived it.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : His state of consciousness was rather coma-like, but the degree of his consciousness rose every now and again before dipping low. His species was unidentifiable and sp perhaps this was a quirk of his biology. Perhaps a healing state? But not even a strong stimulant seemed to wake him, and so he was left in intensive care, clearly not going anywhere, but monitored regularly.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : But there were times when there were less staff on, like the night shift. The quiet of the place was rather eerie in the slightly dimmed lighting but those who worked it were used to it.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : At some point, the nurse, a Lt. (j.g) Gina Tran went to check his vitals and froze. He was gone! Scrambling, she punched in the code to alert security and the CMO, wondering where the hell their permanent guard was. But moving around a corner, she found Ensign Mack Ortega lying on the floor. Checking his pulse, she was grateful he was alive. "A little help here!" she called out. "Someone tell me security is on the way!"
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : ~Nurse Tran
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Joe walking through the corridor on his way to his office stopped and answered the call .=/\= This is Lt. Milligan of security how can I help you?=/\=
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Lt. Joe Milligan COS
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : =/\=This is Lt. Tran. Sir, our coma patient, the high security one... he's gone. He took down Ortega, but he's just unconscious,=/\= the nurse reported, clearly panicked but keeping it in check.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Inside Medical, the alarm drew one of the other on-duty medics over. "Help, me get him on a biobed," Gina instructed and the ensign nodded. Ortega was placed on the biobed, and they evaluated his vitals. Other than being unconscious, he seemed fine. There was no sign of a struggle, not cuts, bruises, nothing.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : ~Nurse Tran
: : : : : :
: : : : : : The smile that spread across Joe's face was typical Joe. The sort of grin one might see on a little boys face if you told him he could tear something up that had previously been put off limits by his mom .
: : : : : : =\/= Thank you very much Tran. =/\= Joe said=/\= If he returns to sickbay give security a yell though I doubt that he will.=/\=
: : : : : : Then he opened a channel to Carmen in their cabin. =/\= Carm we have a problem . Your friend in sickbay has just escaped. So keep the cabin secured.=/\=
: : : : :
: : : : : In their cabin, Carmen froze. No. No, no, no, no! Not now. She wasn't ready for this! She needed more time. Keeping her voce even to hide the panic, she replied, =/\= Understood. Tell Harrison and Orrala. They need to know asap. =/\=
: : : : :
: : : : : : It was just a few minutes later that Joe was in the security office pulling up cameras in each hallway leading away from sickbay. He did this at the same time that he armed himself with a phaser.
: : : : : :
: : : : : : Lt. Joe Milligan COS
: : : : :
: : : : : All the footage currently showed normal activity, except for two that were completely blank in a service corridor out the back of the medical complex.
: : : : :
: : : : Posted by Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (Chief of Operations) in Main Sickbay-COO
: : : : : Posted by Lieut (j.g.) Emelia Bennett (Chief Medical Officer) in Main Sickbay-COO
: : : : : Em and James reappeared and she motioned for two medics to help him to one of the surgical beds. She looked at Nurse Davis "Let Dr. Ellingham know that I'm in surgery with a knee reconstruction." She said and moved off to the surgical bay to begin treating the COO's wound. She walked into the room "Okay, we're going to get started, you'll be asleep so you won't feel anything. It will take about an hour to do a complete knee reconstruction and repair any soft tissue damage." Em explained to the Chief Ops officer.
: : : : :
: : : : : CMO
: : : :
: : : : Laying still on the bed, James watched the Medics get the equipment ready for surgery. He dreaded this a little, as he didn't like the idea of having to have regular check ups, just to make sure the knee was ok. "Feeling kinda stupid now, getting my knee damaged like that," James commented a little concerned he might wake up to a missing leg, "How many of these have you done Doc?"
: : : :
: : : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: : :
: : : (Bump)
: :
: : Em smiled "Enough to create about fifteen knees on my wall." She said lightly "I've done well over 150 total knee reconstructions." She said seriously "I've looked at your file and know the history." She said "This is why you should come see me more often. I promise I don't bite." Em said as she nodded to the medic to administer the anesthazine "See you when you wake up." She said as the hypo spray hissed administering the medication. Once completely sedated, Emelia began the surgery, carefully reconstructing the damaged tissue and repairing what needed to be done. It was delicate work and she was very focused and an hour and half later James was in the recovery ward being tended to by a nurse and a medic. Em was writing up surgical notes and waiting for him to start coming out of the anesthesia so that she could talk to him about a rehab program to get him back on his feet quickly.
: :
: : CMO
:
: "I think I might start seeing you more often," James smiled, and passed out almost instantly as the hiss of the hypospray could be heard. At first it seemed no different than your typical sleep, but an image started entering his mind. He was sixteen years old at Starbase 15, following David to the arboretum. Along the way they bumped into Cardassians who were visiting the station. At the time he was still angry over the Dominion War, and his brother wasn't any better. After bumping into the Cardassians, they shoved him and David aside, and David tackled one in retaliation.
:
: Before James knew it he was in a fight with Cardassians, once again leaping without thinking. You'd think he'd have learned something in the six years since. Even now he couldn't remember the full details of the fight, only that it took twelve Security Officers to pry the two from the Cardassian Soldiers, and he ended up spending a whole day in the brig with a black eye, busted lip, and broken ribs. It would have been an ordinary stay at a space station, if the Station Commander hadn't stopped by. Apparently the man knew James' father, and although David wasn't interested, James had no problem talking to him the whole visit.
:
: Upon waking up in the recovery ward, he looked around and saw the display on the wall above his head. He was still groggy from the anesthetic, but gradually becoming more aware of his surroundings. He looked down at his legs, and tried to lift it. He didn't get very far before the pain forced him to stop. "Relax, give your body time to adjust Lieutenant," The nurse spoke seeing the patient was now awake again.
:
: Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)

Em saw the change in vitals and came in to the room and looked over the data "I was able to successfully repair the damage to your knee. You're going to be sore for a day or two, we'll get you up on your feet in a couple hours, once your more awake." She said "How's your pain level right now?" Em asked noticing the wincing as he tried to move his leg.

: : : : : : : : : Kosandra rode the six levels to the ops deck silently.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : "I need a stationwide status report as soon as possible." she stated. being stuck in that lift she was out of touch with everything that had happened. She moved to the COO's board and pulled up the layout of the station she barely knew. Indicators flashed in several colors indications of power loss, deliberate or otherwise.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : The boarders attacked the Chief, how many others lay injured or worse. The captain would want that information as quick as possible.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Adam entered the Operations Deck a few moments later and settled behind the science station.
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : Kosandra waited for the information fro the ops officer, meanwhile, she attempted to calculate the apparent destination of the fleeing ship using the ion trial.
: : : : : : : ensign Kosandra (aCOO)
: : : : : : One of the Operations Specialist Finley reported to the Operations Deck, and made his way over to Kosandra.
: : : : :
: : : : : "Very good Mr. Finley. Have engineering prioritize Medical and OPS and we need the internal sensor grid back up next." she ordered. "Oh, and caution them to be on there toes for any gifts they may have left behind. We do not want to destroy evidence security may need or trip any devices they may have left in their wake."
: : : : "Aye ma'am, Medical and OPS will get all the TLC they need," Finley replied, making a mental list of what the Acting COO wanted the department to prioritize, "Internal Sensors should be up soon with some of the engineers working on that."
: : : "At ease before you strain something." she ordered. "I am going to ask you for you opinion since you have been on this station longer than I have. What do you think we should work on next?"
: : : Ensign Kosandra (aCOO)
: :
: : "Honestly ma'am, I'd say the Shield Grid, in case someone decides to attack us while we're weak," Chuck spoke, after a moment of thought, and stood at ease, "Security has it's hands full making sure the station's secure, the last thing they need is more intruders."
: :
: "Agreed. Let's make it so." Kosandra stated in a manner so calm it could have been someone having a casual conversation about lunch. "It is always good to have experienced shipmates around you at crunch time." she said with a smile. "Thank you."
: Ensign Kosandra (OPS)

An indicator flashed at the medical bay on the system monitor - Escape patient status prisoner believed to be armed. "Sheist!" Kosandra verbalized when she saw it.
putting the station back on alert she announced "armed suspect approach with caution."
Short LOA on Starbase 202

Evening,

I apologize for any inconvenience, but I need a short LOA until Saturday, at least. The past 2 weeks had been crazy and I won't be online tomorrow. I appreciate your patience on this, but I am in no shape to post adequately and I need a bit of a breather, to regroup and recharge.

Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters on Starbase 202

: Posted by Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (Chief of Operations) in Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters
: : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters
: : : Posted by Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (Chief of Operations) in Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters
(snip)
: : : "I'm glad to hear this might all be winding up," James spoke, handing Carmen the glass of water, and offering her a seat, "I had a feeling that they weren't going to summon me, seeing as there wasn't much I could say that they wouldn't learn talking to you." He took a seat on the couch, and grabbed the holoemitter he was working on, He pushed the switch, but a broken image was showing that was hard to make out. "Something of a gift," He explained, turning it over and opening the back, "Once I can get it to work. So how are you adjusting after being gone so long?"
: : :
: : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: :
: : For a moment, Delphia just stood there, considering him.
: :
: : Commander Delphia, CIO
:
: "With time I'm sure eating will be like riding a bike," James spoke taking a sip of his tea, and after making a couple of adjustments activated the emitter.
:
: Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)

Carmen's piercing dark blue eyes just gazed at him, and she seemed to continue to favour silence over words until she was absolutely sure of what she would say. "Do you remember Narima, the owner of the flower shop and the whole thing we were planning with her?"

"Well, she's why. And her daughter Kiani, who had been captive for over a year. They are why. Because I made Narima a promise to help get Kiani back and I /never/ break a promise. I make very few of them in my life, so there was never a question about going. We did what we had to do and found ourselves in a daunting situation. That we got Narima and Kiani out of there alive was our priority. After that though..." Carmen paused for a brief moment. "I could have walked away then. But it was bigger than me, or my father, or Joe, or everyone here. I offerred to track down the man we discovered had been the traitor all along because it was the right thing to do." She shrugged.

Sit-Com- The Prisoner Escapes! on Starbase 202

OOC: This is parallel to the other threads. Please cross-post to the relevant threads, thanks! :)
IC:
It was after midnight and the night shift had taken over not that long ago. Suddenly a series of urgent comms came into the command hub of 202.

First was the voice of Lt. Milligan, =/\= OPs ! I want a shut down of all shuttle bays as part of the present security breach until the escaped prisoner has been found!=/\=

And then the CMO: =^=Sickbay to Ops. We have had a prisoner escape from Sickbay. Lock down the area. I'll be initiating a scan for his last bio readings.=^=

Those in Sit-Com would note that Security was on high alert.

Corridor behind medical complex Joe hot on the trail. on Starbase 202

: : Posted by Lieutenant Joe Milligan (Chief of Security) in Corridor behind medical complex Joe hot on the trail.
: : : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Corridor behind medical complex Joe hot on the trail.
: : : : Posted by Lieutenant Joe Milligan (Chief of Security) in Corridor behind medical complex Joe hot on the trail.
(snip)
: : : : Oddly enough the only response this brought from Joe was a grin to his face. Finally he replied to Tran saying,=/\= Thank you Lieutenant.=/\=
: : : : Then he tapped his comm again saying=/\= Attention all security personnel , we have an escaped prisoner roaming the station. Milligan out!=/\=
: : : :
: : : : Lt. Joe Milligan COS
: : :
: : : The real issue at this point was that at this point they didn't know how much of a head start Liil had on them, though it couldn't have been exceeding amounts of time considering he escaped from Medical. Considering the man had been in a coma as far as they knew after a life threatening injury, how far could he really have gotten? What were his priorities?
: : :
: : : Commander Delphia, CIO
: :
: : Joe rushed down the corridor.
: : He then bitterly faced a reality.
: : "Computer! " Joe poke. "Report any inquiries about the whereabouts of Carmen Delphia to me as soon as they happen and I'll want to know the location that the inquiry was made!"
: : Having come to the end of this corridor Joe took another that would lead him in the direction of his own cabin. =/\= OPs ! I want a shut down of all shuttle bays as part of the present security breach until the escaped prisoner has been found!=/\=
: :
: : Lt. Joe Miligan COS
:
: Em began working on trying to locate the missing patient from Sickbay. She began scanning the area around sickbay for the last bio readings that they had for him. She looked at Tran "Get Ortega on a bed and I'll be right over." She said and then headed over to the bed to treat Ortega's injuries.
:
: CMO

OOC: Since we're already posting in the medical complex thread and Ortega is already on the biobed, I'm just going to leave my reply to that other thread. I'm not ignoring you Tyra. ;) And I'll just transition out of this thread to the other one Bob.
IC:
The computer took a moment to reply. =/\=There are no current inquiries.=/\= Which meant either he hadn't asked yet, or Liil knew exactly where to go already.

Lieutenant Milligan has been informed." It was then that she realized that Ortega wasn't armed and tapped her commbadge quickly. =/\= Tran to Milligan. Sir, be advised, the prisoner is likely armed. Ortega's phaser is missing. =/\=

Lt. Joe Miligan COS

: : : Em looked at Tran and nodded before heading to the bio bed where the patient had been and began going through the latest data "Was anyone besides security directly observing him?" She asked not placing the blame on anyone, but if someone had seen something, they would need to let Milligan know. "Did this guy say anything before he left or he just suddenly woke up, attacked our people, grabbed a phaser and left."
: CMO

Gina looked stressed. I checked on him thirty minutes ago. Vitals unchanged. Then I went to the lab to take care of some of the testing I was doing this shift. I came back to do another check as I passed by and that's when I noticed he was gone. It was just myself and Ortega in this area. All I can guess is that while I was gone, he attacked Ortega somehow without anyone hearing." That their patient had apparently been in a coma and could so easily take down an armed officer was disturbing to the nurse.

Ortega was perfectly fine, just unconscious. Slight bruising in the area where his left shoulder met his neck indicated some sort of trigger point nerve pressure akin to a Vulcan nerve pince was the likely method of redenering Ortega unconscious. "Vitals are stable," Gina reported.

Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes! on Starbase 202

: Posted by Lieutenant Joe Milligan (Chief of Security) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
: : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
(snip)
: : As she waited though, something occurred to her and she moved over to the console.
: :
: : But locked in her quarters, Carmen had no way to know that the situation was already more critical than she knew. Because lying outside the door, was Lieutenant Orrala Seay. Her neck was twisted at an unnatural angle and her dark eyes barely, wide open, had had barely anytime to register any surprise.
: :
: : Commander Delphia, CIO
:
: As Joe turned the corner down the corridor he saw the crumpled figure lying outside the door to Carmen 's and his cabin. It was far off just a seeming pile of debris. Except that Joe knew instinctively that it wasn't . He knew perfectly well what it was.
: Joe pulled back .
: Joe held his phaser at the ready.
:
: Lt. Joe Milligan COS

But time was a tricky thing. Joe had no way to know exactly how much of a head start Kemmis had on the COS, no way yo know that by the time Carmen had gotten the warning to lock the door, it was too late. Having been asleep and having no reason to to suspect that anything would happen, so hadn't even thought of it. Just a tiny little mistake, but one that could cost her dearly.

Because Liil was already inside their quarters.

Carmen had experienced that before, where he had been in the same room but completely able to block her empathic readings. It was how she knew that he wasn't what he seemed. Standing there in the safe haven of Joe's quarters (that she easily claimed as her own too now), Carmen was startled when a soft and familiar voice crept into her mind, unbidden. She knew it was pointless to shut it out as he'd just force his way in as he always had.

*There's no need for the weapon 'Querida',* he told her from a place unseen, using the Brazilian term for 'darling' for a woman. What he always called her. *I won't hurt you.* There was a promise to his words but Carmen knew she couldn't trust that. He was also very close, that much she knew.

Frozen in place, Carmen could feel each racing beat of her heart, and the despair stirred within her at the sound of his voice. It would be a simple thing to spin quickly and fire at the first thing that moved, but she couldn't move. She was paralyzed where she stood. *How did you know I was here?* she asked at length.

*Oh, that was easy enough to pick up from the conversations going on around me,* Liil admitted as he moved out of his hiding spot towards her. Mere moments later Carmen felt his hand slip up her arm and though she tried to fight it, a tear slipped down her face. He hadn't been in a true coma, that much was clear. But how did he fool them? His warm breath on her ear as he began to whisper made she shudder. He knew all of this of course. "He won't let it be. You know this. I don't want to kill him since he clearly means something to you. Naughty woman, keeping such a secret so well from me. I'm impressed. Truly," he said with a light voice and his tone suggested he was grinning slightly. "We need to go now. You can make this as easy or difficult as you wish, but I don't want to see you harmed. Choose wisely."

Closing her eyes tightly, Carmen tried to will herself to be anywhere than where she was. He continued speaking in her mind. *It was a mistake to bring you here. I see that now. But I needed you to understand that this was no real life for such a brilliant woman as yourself. There's so much you could do. You deserve better than this, than /him/. You know it's true.* Inside, Carmen rebelled at his words, feeling anger stir. And yet, she still couldn't move, for reasons she couldn't begin to understand.

Joe. He had never been and could never be beneath her. No. They were very much alike, despite their clear differences. They needed each other, broken as they were, to know that they weren't alone in this life. She was telepathic with other telepaths, like Liil, but she had never had that ability with someone who wasn't psi-positive, at least an empath. But needed it to work so desperately that maybe it could. Maybe through the simple fact that she loved Joe so much that she risked everything to get back to him, he could feel /something/ as she reached out to him, all but begging him to save her, if not from Liil than from her own fear.

~Carmen & Kemmis

Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters on Starbase 202

: : : : Posted by Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (Chief of Operations) in Alt Timeline - Merrick's Quarters
: (snip)
: : : : "I'm glad to hear this might all be winding up," James spoke, handing Carmen the glass of water, and offering her a seat, "I had a feeling that they weren't going to summon me, seeing as there wasn't much I could say that they wouldn't learn talking to you." He took a seat on the couch, and grabbed the holoemitter he was working on, He pushed the switch, but a broken image was showing that was hard to make out. "Something of a gift," He explained, turning it over and opening the back, "Once I can get it to work. So how are you adjusting after being gone so long?"
: : : :
: : : : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
: : :
: : : For a moment, Delphia just stood there, considering him.
: : :
: : : Commander Delphia, CIO
: :
: : "With time I'm sure eating will be like riding a bike," James spoke taking a sip of his tea, and after making a couple of adjustments activated the emitter.
: :
: : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
:
: Carmen's piercing dark blue eyes just gazed at him, and she seemed to continue to favour silence over words until she was absolutely sure of what she would say. "Do you remember Narima, the owner of the flower shop and the whole thing we were planning with her?"

"I think so, cute lady running the flower shop?" James spoke thinking back after Carmen mentioned Narima, "
:
: "Well, she's why.
:
: Commander Delphia, CIO

"Bigger than me," James repeated, leaning back in his seat and let a small chuckle escape his lips, "I can appreciate that one. Couldn't exactly ignore the threat to Federation Security. At least not without being sure the threat was dealt with. I think I can understand that one." He paused a moment, taking another sip of his tea and looked at the award displays on his wall. "So I take it you're going back to catch the guy?" He asked curious as to whether she was staying or leaving again.

Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)

: : : : : : Em and James reappeared and she motioned for two medics to help him to one of the surgical beds.
: : : : : Laying still on the bed, James watched the Medics get the equipment ready for surgery. He dreaded this a little, as he didn't like the idea of having to have regular check ups, just to make sure the knee was ok. "Feeling kinda stupid now, getting my knee damaged like that," James commented a little concerned he might wake up to a missing leg, "How many of these have you done Doc?"
: : :
: : : Em smiled "Enough to create about fifteen knees on my wall." She said lightly "I've done well over 150 total knee reconstructions." She said seriously "I've looked at your file and know the history." She said "This is why you should come see me more often.
: : :
: : : CMO
: :
: : "I think I might start seeing you more often," James smiled, and passed out almost instantly as the hiss of the hypospray could be heard.
: :
: : Before James knew it he was in a fight with Cardassians, once again leaping without thinking.
: :
: : Upon waking up in the recovery ward, he looked around and saw the display on the wall above his head.
: :
: : Lieut (j.g.) James Merrick (COO)
:
: Em saw the change in vitals and came in to the room and looked over the data "I was able to successfully repair the damage to your knee. You're going to be sore for a day or two, we'll get you up on your feet in a couple hours, once your more awake." She said "How's your pain level right now?" Em asked noticing the wincing as he tried to move his leg.
:
: CMO

"Feels like a five or a six..." James spoke, using the usual 1-10 scale to describe his pain. He relaxed the leg, figuring in his current state he wasn't going to get far, plus he was enjoying Em's company a bit. "You know, only hurst when I bend the leg." He slowly looked up at the bio scanner over his bed, curious to see what exactly it was showing on the display. "So how long is physical therapy going to be?" He asked.

Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes! on Starbase 202

: : Posted by Lieutenant Joe Milligan (Chief of Security) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
: : : Posted by Commander Carmen Delphia (Chief Intelligence Officer) in Milligan-Delphia Quarters: The Prisoner Escapes!
: (snip)
: : : As she waited though, something occurred to her and she moved over to the console.
: : :
: : : But locked in her quarters, Carmen had no way to know that the situation was already more critical than she knew. Because lying outside the door, was Lieutenant Orrala Seay. Her neck was twisted at an unnatural angle and her dark eyes barely, wide open, had had barely anytime to register any surprise.
: : :
: : : Commander Delphia, CIO
: :
: : As Joe turned the corner down the corridor he saw the crumpled figure lying outside the door to Carmen 's and his cabin. It was far off just a seeming pile of debris. Except that Joe knew instinctively that it wasn't . He knew perfectly well what it was.
: : Joe pulled back .
: : Joe held his phaser at the ready.
: :
: : Lt. Joe Milligan COS
:
: But time was a tricky thing.
:
: Because Liil was already inside their quarters.
:
: Carmen had experienced that before, where he had been in the same room but completely able to block her empathic readings.
:
: *There's no need for the weapon 'Querida',* he told her from a place unseen, using the Brazilian term for 'darling' for a woman. What he always called her. *I won't hurt you.* There was a promise to his words but Carmen knew she couldn't trust that. He was also very close, that much she knew.
:
: Frozen in place, Carmen could feel each racing beat of her heart, and the despair stirred within her at the sound of his voice. It would be a simple thing to spin quickly and fire at the first thing that moved, but she couldn't move. She was paralyzed where she stood. *How did you know I was here?* she asked at length.
:
: *Oh, that was easy enough to pick up from the conversations going on around me,* Liil admitted as he moved out of his hiding spot towards her.
:
: Closing her eyes tightly, Carmen tried to will herself to be anywhere than where she was.
:
: Joe.
:
: ~Carmen & Kemmis

Joe had stood in the shadows waiting. Had stood long enough when finally he dashed down the corridor . One door to another presenting himself for bait. He stopped at the door across from Carmens ad his cabin . He looked down at the body temporarily trying to see who it was. He then questioned his first analysis . Maybe the body outside their quarters was just a coincidence.
Joe started to try thinking things through logically. Maybe he had..maybe.or.. Joe found himself unable to think clearly . He fought to think clearly for a moment then gave up. It was as if a wave of emotions washed over him all at once. Fear , total and unrestrained, a feeling of helplessness, then something, a tear began to form at the corner of Joes eye as he all he seemed to be able to think of was Carmen.
It was then that something in Joe snapped. Whether it was Carmen trying to get hold of him with her mind, whether Joe had finally reasoned out where Liil might be or whether Joe had just went a bit more mad than he usually was the results were the same.
He charged the door of his cabin like some berserker from the stories of the Norsemen . He toward the door so fast the thing barely had time to open . Rushing into the cabin he slowed down for nothing taking only a fraction of a second to see Liil there his hands on Carmen. Joe never even gave thought to using the phaser in his hand . He dropped it as he launched himself across the the room with a blood curdling war cry full of violence and hut all rolled into one animal sound.
Nothing had ever felt so good as when Joe landed against Liil . Joe wrapped his arms around him as if he were going to embrace him . Liil may or may not have been good at martial arts but it was doubtful that anyone in the room was prepared for what Joe did next. He leaned forward as if her were going to actually kiss Liil on the cheek . Instead Joes mouth opened wide and in one swift movement clamped down over Liils ear. Biting down hard Joe yanked back roughly with his head. The sound of the tearing cartilage could be heard through the cabin . Joe spit the ear to to the side and with blood dripping down the side of his chin laughed as he prepared to bore in for more.

  Lt. Joe Milligan COS

: : : : : : : Gina had been wondering if the CMO got the emergency alert but never matter, she was here. "Our coma patient has left," she said urgently. "He took down Ortega, though he seems alright. Lieutenant Milligan has been informed." It was then that she realized that Ortega wasn't armed and tapped her commbadge quickly. =/\= Tran to Milligan. Sir, be advised, the prisoner is likely armed. Ortega's phaser is missing. =/\=
: : : Finally he replied to Tran saying,=/\= Thank you Lieutenant.=/\=
: : :
: : : Lt. Joe Miligan COS
: : :
: : : : : : Em looked at Tran and nodded before heading to the bio bed where the patient had been and began going through the latest data "Was anyone besides security directly observing him?" She asked not placing the blame on anyone, but if someone had seen something, they would need to let Milligan know. "Did this guy say anything before he left or he just suddenly woke up, attacked our people, grabbed a phaser and left."
: : : : : :
: : : : : ooc. OPS should be alerted.
: : : :
: : : : Em coughed slightly and touched her comm badge =^=Sickbay to Ops. We have had a prisoner escape from Sickbay. Lock down the area. I'll be initiating a scan for his last bio readings.=^=
=/\= acknowledged. internal censors are damaged but engineering teams are working on getting them back up. I will do what I can as well. If we find him I will contain him with forcefields till security can move in.=/\= Kosandra replied.
Ensign Kosandra (aCOO)

: : : Gina looked stressed.
: : :
: : : Ortega was perfectly fine, just unconscious. Slight bruising in the area where his left shoulder met his neck indicated some sort of trigger point nerve pressure akin to a Vulcan nerve pince was the likely method of redenering Ortega unconscious. "Vitals are stable," Gina reported.
: : :
: : : ~Lt. (j.g) Gina Tran, Nurse
: :
: : OOC: Oops, meant to say that his biosigns were not detectable on the station for some reason. ~Linds
:
: Em walked over and looked at Ortega's neck "Gina did you see this?" She asked as she picked up her tricorder and began examining the bruised area more closely "If that is what I think it is, this guy may not need weapons to render people unconscious." She said "It looks like a nerve pinch of some sort..." She said as she waited for the tricorder to give her additional readings.
:
: : : : : : : : : Posted by Lieutenant Adam Chryst (Chief Science Officer) in Kosandra (acting COO) @ OPS
: : : : : : : : : : Posted by Ensign Kosandra (Operations) in Kosandra (acting COO) @ OPS
: : : : : : : : : : Kosandra rode the six levels to the ops deck silently.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : "I need a stationwide status report as soon as possible." she stated. being stuck in that lift she was out of touch with everything that had happened. She moved to the COO's board and pulled up the layout of the station she barely knew. Indicators flashed in several colors indications of power loss, deliberate or otherwise.
: : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : The boarders attacked the Chief, how many others lay injured or worse. The captain would want that information as quick as possible.
: : : : : : : : : : Ensign Kosandra (OPS)
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : Adam entered the Operations Deck a few moments later and settled behind the science station.
: : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : Kosandra waited for the information fro the ops officer, meanwhile, she attempted to calculate the apparent destination of the fleeing ship using the ion trial.
: : : : : : : : ensign Kosandra (aCOO)
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : One of the Operations Specialist Finley reported to the Operations Deck, and made his way over to Kosandra.
: : : : : : :
: : : : : : : PO3 Chuck Finley (OPS)
: : : : : :
: : : : : : "Very good Mr. Finley. Have engineering prioritize Medical and OPS and we need the internal sensor grid back up next." she ordered. "Oh, and caution them to be on there toes for any gifts they may have left behind. We do not want to destroy evidence security may need or trip any devices they may have left in their wake."
: : : : : :
: : : : : "Aye ma'am, Medical and OPS will get all the TLC they need," Finley replied, making a mental list of what the Acting COO wanted the department to prioritize, "Internal Sensors should be up soon with some of the engineers working on that."
: : : : :
: : : : "At ease before you strain something." she ordered. "I am going to ask you for you opinion since you have been on this station longer than I have. What do you think we should work on next?"
: : "Agreed. Let's make it so." Kosandra stated in a manner so calm it could have been someone having a casual conversation about lunch. "It is always good to have experienced shipmates around you at crunch time." she said with a smile. "Thank you."
