Under a set of unusual circumstances, I have been ordered to take command of the USS Columbus, while her previous captain has been transferred.

It is unusual in that the Columbus was in mid mission when the orders came, requiring that I take a runabout from the USS Destiny to the Columbus. Meanwhile, my previous command, the USS Destiny, was being towed back into starbase after taking major damage due to an ambush by pirates. It is with deep regret that I left her not knowing if Star Fleet would repair her or retire her from the fleet.

We have arrived at the coordinates indicated by the Executive Officer and have found a planet and an anomoly in the fabric of space holding the lost NX-Phoenix. I have sent an away team by shuttle to check it out.

This is my first full command of a vessel and we are ordered to the coordinates that the hologram had given to the XO when they were saved by myself and the crew of the USS Donghai.

We will be departing Star Base 202 shortly heading to those coordinates to investigate the area and find clues to what all this is about.

Starfleet Command has recalled us from our mission to meet the Renkadi and we've been ordered back to Starbase 202. I fully intend to protest officially. The mission should not have been terminated based on the ramblings of a Q.
