: : : : : : The trip on the shuttles, as was stated, went mostly uneventful. The atmosphere looked tranquil until they actually dipped into it. The winds bucked the shuttles. Visibility was mainly gone, however instruments carried the day. When the shuttles reached a particular storm layer in the sandstorm charged particles became attracted to the shuttle; lightning flashed along the hull. Only once did the shuttle's interior flicker and the console displays become pixelized before reforming seconds later.

: : : : : : The camp itself was not seen on landing. The shuttle's lights seemed to get lost in the wind driven sand. Between 'waves' of the wind could be seen a large octagonal landing pad. Each intersection of the octagon held a half globe of glowing light. Said light allowed for a dim ghostly glow over the landing area. Jagged rocky outcrops could be seen. In a kind of narrow gully could barely be seen a line of these glowing globes leading away until the gully and the blowing sand swallowed them up. They were evidently hanging by a chain or cord for they swung in the wind, beckoning.

: : : : : James stared through the view port, and held up a pair of old motorcycle goggles. "I'm so glad I brough these." He said, pulling them on, before dragging a length of rag from a pocket and wrapping it around the lower half of his face. He sighed, "...I'm going to get sand in my hair." He said, disconsonatly.

: : : : Jane powered down the thrusters and landed a bit roughly. She turned in her chair to face the crew that had riden with her. "Ok everyone needs to put on face and eye shields before the hatch can be opened." She pointed off 2 O'clock, "the camp is that way, keep close together so we don't get lost."

: : : The winds hurled sand this way and that as the rocky areas made the wind direction chaotic. Lightning crackled in the sky. Whether it reached the ground was anyone's guess, their flashes making macabre shadows out of the rock formations about the away team. The path was not an easy one. It did zig and it did zag. A hundred meters beyond the landing point it crossed a narrow bridge over a crevasse. The path after followed the crevasse. Here the wind whipped against the party like they were going through a wind tunnel. Part way along this, suddenly NE Koats screamed as he tumbled over the edge and into the crevasse.

: : James dropped to the floor and reached down to catch Koats' hand, just catching it in time. "Oh no you don't!" He yelled through the howl of the wind, as he heaved the ensign back up. He patted him on the back as he caught his breath. "Happens to me all the time." James said reassuringly. "Okay everyone, important safety tip, don't walk into any big holes in the ground."

: Jane paused at the head of the column of people and looked back to see the COS catch the NE. She proceeded slowly around the rocks. As she skirted an outcropping she looked down and saw the camp just barely through the sand whipping in the wind.

Jaya quicky grabbed hold of James to make sure both of them did not tumble over. Jaya then pulled out her tricoder and quickly scanned the surface for any other areas that might give way. Once she completed the scan she said "Looks pretty secure if you go straight towards the captain, Captain as you move forward make sure to stay at least a meter in from the edge at all times."
