: : : : : Lt Rosson walked in, he had been walking at the rear of the party and looked around; "with weather like that, its no wonder you hang out underground."

: "Geologists, surveyors. We're all a bit of a hermit I'm afraid. Underground is more home than above ground." He glanced at the small window looking to the outside and sighed. "Certainly on this world. Sometimes it has felt more like a prison. Normally we're pretty fascinated by new things, but even new can wear on you, you know?" Jared replied.

: : : : James pulled off his goggles and mask. "There was a part where a good friend of mine nearly fell to his death but thats pretty much par for the course with us." He said. "We've landed in worse, trust me." he added, looking around the cave.

: : : Jaya took off her mask and said "As Lt. Eagle said we have been in worse. I'm Lt. Seth, CSO and this is Lt. Kasumi from my department." Jaya said pointing the Kasumi. "Before the storm gets any worse where can we help with your equipment, experimnents and research."

: "The others are just inside, packing up the accumulated data. We've tried to protect them as well as we could by taking them deeper. I'll introduce them to you when we go in farther," he replied after acknowledging each of the introductions. "The storm has likely found its peak. They sound worse than they are but its a heck of a job digging out the instruments afterwards." He pointed to the bank of equipment. "Much of that is packed. Just what you see is still out. It shouldn't be more than a few hours to pack it up. What'll delay us is the storm for getting them over to the shuttle." He tossed his robe onto a hook with some others on pegs beside it. "How was the trip down by the way?"

: : Kasumi pulled her mask and goggles off, brushing off some stray sand. She nodded as her CO indicated her, then looked about at all the equipment with a quiet internal groan. She loved her work, but dismantaling this would take hours!

: "In the meantime if you care to look around, there are some fascinating geological striations in the planetary sub-surface. Iron ore that as it is laid down angles itself to the planetary magnetic field forming a mosaic that would take your breath away." Jared chuckled as he leaned over to brush dust from his thick trousers. "If you're a geologist that is."

"The trip down was relatively smooth, a few bumps because of the storm but nothing serious. As for the geological striations I would love to see them. I have taken a lot of ribbing over the years for specilaizing in the planetary sciences, both geology and oceonography and then being out in space where you don't necessarily see much of them outside of a few planetary body scans here and there and then passing the information off to research teams such as yours." Jaya said with a grin as she stepped forward excitedly.
