: Evening all,
:
: Now for the final version of the Players Handbook (http://docs.google.com/View?docid=drzrwnp_14fprp9xcw).
:
: This will be replacing the old PHB as of next week, provided that there are no major issues.
:
: Many thanks,

Section - Logging In

"The top of the page carries links to the STF Library (where this and other documents can be found), The Office of the President (where our rules, regulations and history can be found) and a site contact form for our site webmaster."

The new Project module link needs to be included in the above statement. Also I can't remember whether we agreed that the PHB would be up there also after it was uploaded.

Section - Ship Navigation

"In order to create an entirely new post, you must use the left navigation bar once more. Clicking ‘Create Note’ will create a similar box to that you found in the reply note function."

This isn't true any more. It should be replaced with. "In order to create an entirely new post, you must navigate to the ship MOTD. Clicking ‘Post Note’ (located just above the roster) will create a similar box to that you found in the reply note function."

Section - Character Basics

"Your new CO will need to complete your roster entry by adding your character species, height and weight. There is also space within each rostered character to add a full biography of your character. To access a characters biography, you need only click that characters name on the roster.

To add information to your character biography, you’ll need to email it to the CO or XO. "

The above is no longer relevant. The user can update this information themselves without the need to contact the CO or XO to do it for them.

This could be changed to:

"You will need to complete your roster entry by adding your character species, height and weight. There is also space within each rostered character to add a full biography of your character. To access a characters biography, you need only click that characters name on the roster."

"With the biography complete and emailed to your CO, you’re ready to report in and begin posting. " should be removed from later on in the same section.

Section - Reporting In

"Using the “Create Note” option, you open a new box. To report in, you might put the location “Office: COS” if you were security or “Office: CE” for engineering and so on for each department. To report for a physical, you’d likely use the location “Sickbay” and for the psych exam you would likely use “Office: CNS”. "

The first sentence should be changed to "Using the “Post Note” option, you open a new box."

"If you have problems with spelling and grammar, then writing a post in a word processor with spelling and grammar checker will help. Many people follow this path if they’re unsure of their spelling. "

You might want to add the alternative use of an in-browser spell checker in the above sentence.

Section - Posting etiquette

"Because of the nature of WeBBspace, occasionally emotions can run high or confusion can set in. To avoid this, we have a few guidelines governing etiquette for posting on WeBBspace."

Did you mean:

"Because of the nature of STF, occasionally emotions can run high or confusion can set in. To avoid this, we have a few guidelines governing etiquette for posting on STF."

I think it would be better referred to as STF than WeBBspace.

=^=: Isn't a ASCII shortcut I don't think. It's probably better referred to as an ASCII character. It's also possibly worth mentioning that =/\= is an acceptable alternative to =^= as many people use =/\= also.

" If you need more time than that off it’s considered good etiquette to declare a Leave Of Absence or LOA. To do this, in your account settings add the words “LOA Until **/**/**” as the last part of your last name, which can be altered on your profile page." I knew I should have copywrited that. I would have been a millionaire by now :P

Section - STF Academy - Academy Rules

"Cadets are required to post at least once every seven days (with the exception of the Apollo, which is every 10), though they tend to post once or twice per day, facilitating the shorter mission time."

The Disco Cadets have to post atleast once every 4 days. So the above should read:

"Cadets are required to post at least once every seven days (with the exception of the Apollo, which is every 10 and the Discovery, which is every 4 days), though they tend to post once or twice per day, facilitating the shorter mission time."

Sorry guys :(

/me ducks from Andy, Krys and Jack

But to make up for it I've created the three screen captures for you with the appropriate bits highlighted in each... Maybe they could be of help... as long as you haven't got them already :S
