Questions for the candidates on Election Ship

: 2) It has been brought to my attention that the Election Edict (LEGOE) does not, in fact, state that members may ask questions of candidates; it just describes how one must behave when posting. Oops. :-) In accordance with established precedent, therefore, I have ruled that anyone with an account, whether eligible to vote or not, may pose questions to candidates generally or specifically to a candidate or engage candidates in on-topic discussion and debate, unless they have been restricted from doing so as a penalty for some misbehavior.
:
: Because all candidates must be both "people with an account" and "members" as defined by LEGOE, candidates are permitted to pose questions to each other in the same fashion as anyone else.

The EC does not normally pose questions to candidates directly, however, as this tidbit applies directly to my position as EC I am going to make an exception in this case. The following question is therefore posed to all candidates:
Given the above mentioned oversight in the LEGOE edict, how do you propose to handle addressing it?
1) Ignore it. Everyone knows what we mean, and it's too much of a hassle to over-legislate.
2) Post an "addendum edict", adding that little bit to the election rules without reposting LEGOE in its entirety.
3) Correct that problem in LEGOE and reissue the entire edict, with or without a full review of the rest of the edict.
4) Something else not mentioned. Explain.
State your reasoning for your choice. All answers must contain between 139 and 512 words, not counting signature.
