Martin / Brough Campaign on Election Ship

: Posted by Edward Brough (Vice Presidential Candidate) in Martin / Brough Campaign
: Over the Last few days Tim and I have come to certain realizations, both about ourselves and the other candidates. My LOA was probably the trigger for a chain of events which led to this realization however I feel that despite this, our campaign wasn't as strong as we had hoped and the Platform and Campaigning strategy of our opposition was strong and virtually flawless. I set out on this Campaign primarily to get some issues across and to help Tim do the same. Being Vice President was something I had considered but never truly expected to get. Criticisms have piled up from a number of people regarding the speed of our responses and such and the strength of our Platform and it has reached a point now where the steam our Ticket started our with has virtually run out. Therefore on behalf of Tim and Myself and with a heavy Heart I hereby announce that the Martin / Brough Ticket resigns the run for Presidency.

: I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Andrew Robinson and Brian Olinski on an excellent campaign and a well earn victory. Tim and I feel that despite our best efforts you would most likely have won the campaign regardless and so let me be the first to offer my congratulations and to shake your Hand. I hope you show as much enthusiasm and dedication in the Presidency as you did in this Campaign.
:
: It is our hope that the ideas and issues we laid out in the Campaign be not ignored but rather taken on board and dealt with however the new administration feels best. We succeeded in accomplishing the goal we set out to do which was laying out some issues which people may not have been aware of and shedding some light and some possible solutions on it. Our running enabled our opposition to share and express a number of views and arguments themselves therefore we do not regret running in the first place nor any of the actions we have taken in the election period itself. It was an honor running with Tim and against two of the finest STF members in the club. May you at the very least bring the future to STF

For the record, I cannot accept this withdrawl from the VP candidate. Tim will have to post his withdrawl, as he is the "top of ticket candidate". A VP can only withdraw himself from the election (although doing so does invalidate the ticket anyway).

Tim, if it is your intent to withdraw please post to that effect, either in a reply to this message or as a new message. Speech optional. :-)
