Aydan Trantor is the grandson of USS Merrimack CSO Jaina Trantor, and a Mage...he inherited his grandmother's love of the mystical and put it into practice rather than simply theorizing, but respected the Eternal Balance and attempted to preserve the technological nature of the Age of Warp. As the USS Rogue entered the future timeline of the Imperium of Man, he met a godlike being called Cegorach, who granted him increased Magical power. But this caused the Eternal Balance to tip into darkness...now forces are in motion. Aydan may have to give up his Magic altogether...the decision remains with the Laughing God.

However, once one is a Mage, one remains a Mage forever...if only in spirit, for a Mage is an indomitable creature of power and might, even without Magic to sustain him.
