Ok ...

I am wondering if it would be possible to limit the creation of new locations to CO/XO/GM (or at least those with Admin Access) on the individual ships. Some ships seem to have different locations for individual notes in a thread, and it does become quite difficult when trying to work back and/or forward through threads using the 'next post in location' thread.

I'm not sure how easy something like that would be to do, what impact it would have on the system or things like that, but seeing posts with locations like "James and Tara fleeing from the Big Green Monster through the Dungeon of Doom on USS Delicious" seems to me to be rather pointless and useless, and really isn't a location at all ... the location in that case might have started off as Dungeon of Doom for example ... and the various people added on the extra bits.

This of course would mean that some of the functionality e.g. people being able to create their own locations would be lost, but at least the locations would be kept fairly manageable.

I know that a similar issue to this was brought up way way back ... and back then I thought this wasn't a good thing ... but now I've changed my mind on that issue.

Anyway ... thoughts?

PS Obviously, there isn't a ship called USS Delicious, or a location named 'James and Tara fleeing from the Big Green Monster through the Dungeon of Doom' in STF ... but there were some that were getting close to it ... out of the realms of locations and into the realms of topics :)
