: As they moved forward, Talok said, "Stop where you are please. We are here to rescue you." He waited for a response. He leaned towards the side of caution, for he didn't know who this person was or what their intentions were.

The figure cranes his suited ahead abruptly as if not expecting to be addressed, not to mention being surprised. He turned more, his hand palming a phaser which he fired quickly. While it was close, it was no cigar, as the beam struck the bulkhead plating less than a meter from where Talok was.
