Stardate 2009.08

I have assumed Command of the USS Victorious under Starfleet Order 130 being the senior officer aboard. I have now been brought up to speed on our situation.

The ship is in orbit over a research station located on the planet surface. This station is the focus of two Away Teams. Currently both Teams are reporting very odd readings and events on the surface. Science teams are detecting chromomatic particle in almost a time distortion storm. This storm has trapped both of my Away Teams on the station.

In addition to these storms, an energy beam has erupted from the station targeting the Victorious. Initially thought to be a weapon of some sort, it actually is a power disapation device. Everywhere the beam goes it drains power from essentual systems. While it pained be to do so. I have ordered the Victorious to the highest possible orbit in an effort to get out of the beams range. This has taken us out of transporter range, and temporarily stranded our Away Teams.

I have ordered our Chief of Security, Lt. Eagle to mount a support and possible extraction mission to the Away Teams using the ships shuttles. Only the Gods will know if he can get to them in time.
