Office of the GMDir: Sim Bank on GameMaster Department
An idea proposed last term, I believe by Sy, was for the GMDept to create a Sim Bank. This would be a list of usable sim outlines for GMs to use in a crunch. For instance, you're an EGM agreeing to run a quick sim, or you get an Academy appointment that needs to start A.S.A.P. These sims would be simple, quick, to the point, and available for GMs in such situations. They would be written by Gamemasters. When one is used, it would be taken down to avoid future repetition, I assume.
I am interesting in finding out if members think this is something the GMDept should create. I myself think it is worthy of giving a try! It could have helped in some spaces over the last term, such as when Russell Watt and Joe Fahey agreed to GM ships on very short notice, should they have wanted to use the resource.
Assuming support is there, should this data be publically available for all to see, or should it be for authorized-eyes-only? If public, members may become aware of the outlines well ahead of time, removing any mystery or suspense. As well, some Gamemasters may use it in their sims in non-emergency situations. Would this be a bad thing? If private, the bank would be shown to Gamemasters who've agreed to do short-notice GM work, or if they're really stuck for an idea.
