: : : : : : : James contrived to look as if he hadn't noticed, which only made it more conspicuous. He set about exploring the area, an excercise which consisted primaril of pressing any interesting buttons, randomly waving his tricorder at things and, at one point, pulling a tuning fork out of his trenchcoat and giving the walls a tap. "les cieux bleus, souriant à moi..." he sang softly under his breath, before asking the room at large "Pouvons-nous aller pourtant, je m'ennuie?". When he saw the expressions of the room at large he ran the senence back through his head, eventually realising. "Oh... Haven't done that in a while..." before turning to the three ensigns. "Right you lot, go find Aries and see what sort of mess he's been making."

: ic: =^="Phommavanh here, NE Leeds injured her shoulder and doctor Ronso is knocked out. The creatures were dealt with. NE Conrad did a very superb job, she is to be recommended. We're just out-side the command and control room. I want Doctor Ronso to be taking back to the victorious. I'll leave NE Leeds to her own choice, but I sure could use another engineer, science officer, and 2 more security officers.=^="

: : : : : : It was pretty much dark in there. But on the upside - no bones.

: : : : : : What was within was an inverted funnel comprising much of the interior of this chamber. There were no consoles evident, however there were flattened displays that were dark and only had the same veiny stuff upon it. The whole space of the inverted funnel was glowing a deep green and was the source of the sound. The dark light that was there allowed those there to travel but not to really see that far or that well. The energy signature was the funnel.

: : : : : : As more came into the room the perimeter walls began to glow more with the veiny material, allowing more of a 'glow' and light to be evident. Something came through the speakers of the room which was partially translated.

: : : : : "Well that is a slight improvement, at least it seems to be picking up Federation standard," Tamar said. "I wonder if it is working the way our universal translators work. The more samples of a language it gets the more it can translate. My suggestion is that we spend a few moments talking and see if it can pick up the nuances of our speech. That is unless Henry knows how to interface our translators into the systems language circuits. I wonder if it is some how monitoring or controlling the storm on the planet?"

: : "Good idea, Doctor", said M'raan. Turning to the engineer, he asked,"Can you do that, Henry? If we could speak directly to the station, we might resolve the power drain issue quickly, as well as learn the identity of the station's builders, or possible creators."

: : : : In the background James idly played with a yo-yo. "By the way" he said to no one in particular "Once the beam is down you guys are all to get back to the Vicky. I'm gonna stick around and see if I can find out whats going on." He looked at Henry "What d'you reckon? Can you disable it?"

: : : "I don't know." He said, as he scanned the funnel to get an idea of what he was dealing with. "Also, I'm staying. You never know what could happen and if you need an engineer, better to have one here than on the Vicky."

"Au contraire hank-a-doodle." James said walking the yo-yo along the floor and snapping it up into his hand. "Quirst wants everyone back on the ship once that thing is down, no exceptions. Well... except me. But I suppose there could be locked doors and as incredibly flexible as I am-" he glanced breifly at Tamar and winked "-I don't fancy my chances of crawling through debris-clogged tubes, so I guess you can stay." he conceded.
