This is the First official Marketing Department report since the creation of the position and we have some great things coming up.

OK so over the past 2 months August, September we have made a few developments, which I am pleased to announce that we are now taking steps towards to getting our name out there in that big scary world.

1) We have seen our discussion on the banner exchange change from being between us and different clubs to a final decision of joining a top 100 site. Which brings me to the second part of this discussion.

The Marketing Department is prod to announce that we are holding a banner competition, for those creative members out there. All banners which are submitted will be available for all members to use on there personal site to promote STF and the winner of the Banner contest will have there banner placed on the top 100 site as the main link to our site right here at www.star-fleet.com The contest starts today and we will be accepting banners till Nov 5 and the voting will take place from Nov 6 - 10 and the winner will be announced Nov 11 Remembrance day.

2) The News letter discussion. Well it has stalled mainly for the fact that no one can decide who's jurisdiction it should fall under. Though I believe it has some what understood that it should probably be a group in it's own, endorsed by the Admin. I can tell you that there is allot of people who are interested in seeing it happen. And I believe that the consensus is to utilize the front page as the news but have it designed more tastefully. Now as this topic has become quite sensitive and for the fact that no one can decide a jurisdiction for the newsletter I believe the topic should be moved to command as it is better suited for such things.

3) In the last week I started a discussion on weather or not we should have our own fleet started in the up and coming Game STO (Star Trek Online) So far it has been accepted with great enthusiasm and the fleet name will likely be star-fleet.com or STF. What we want here is to get people interested in the name and look us up.
