Fleet Reports on Starfleet Command
Fleet 6 Report
This month has been crazy for the whole fleet. I am glad to have the crew that I have they make my job easier. This is going to be a short report because I have felt like crap al month. With all my medical changes I have not been around like I wanted to be.

Hmmm ... not much ... the Fleet Officers, Marines and Civilians on Oed V are coming to terms with the explosion and settling into life under Fleet Captain Russell JK Watt as Governor.
Open Positions:
Not really a lot ... mostly just JOs in Departments and some Civilians. We now have/are getting two Marines ... Josh Posey as a Marine Medic and our new Marine Major, played by the returning Anthony Martin.
Spotlight:
Melissa Bradley as always does a great job, and now, she is not only CNS, but she is also the wife of the new Governor.

Comments:
We have had quite a bit happen recently. There was a terrorist attack on Oed's school, in which the governor was killed. Currently the Lt. Governor is on the Centurion tending to some smugglers who may be more than that (I don't really know). Overall, everything has been going pretty well, and the explosion was fairly dramatic. A lot of people are involved.
Open Positions:
Most specific positions are filled. We are always looking for JOs, Civilians and Swings, though; we're pretty much open to anything, in fact.
Spotlight:
I am going to have to say Lloyd Hibdon again. He really has a lot of presence on Oed- perhaps more than even Russ and me. He has 3 characters, all of which are individual characters, and are involved in almost every aspect of Oed in some way.
FComm notes:
Overall Rating: 4
Comments: Things on the Oed are going great. People are keeping busy and doing great IC simming. I know both Russ and Will have had a busy month but the Oed is doing well.

The ship has undergone getting a new CO and we have increased the crew size. Along with some newbie’s, we recruited a few old timers too. I am excited to see how we all mesh together once we have an actual sim to work on. Another new member is Tim Martin signing on as our GMT. He is untried as a GM so this first mission should be interesting. I have asked him to keep me in the loop with his ideas for the Europa and he has promised to do so. This will be a shake down mission for all the crew to learn to gel with each other.

All positions are filled.

Since we don't have a mission necessarily this month I gave it a 1. The ship itself has kept very good posting speeds since we began transferring new people aboard and they have all picked up the pace with posting even without a mission
Open Positions:
Science JOs
Spotlight:
Michelle Higdon
I say this because out of those who I posted with she seemed the most realistic and has been extremely active as well.
GM: Excused Tim Martin has just been placed as GMT.
Overall Rating: 3
Comments: With the new GMT finally taking his seat I think the crew will be much happier and there will be even more people posting. D and Josh have done a great job on keeping people busy while they waited for the new GM.

We are just about to get an away team moving to the planet's surface. With the fall season starting and various activities and obligations starting as well, I expected us to be a bit slow for the month, which we were. I expect once our away team gets going everything else will pick up as well!

Elizabeth Caro is doing a good job of providing opportunities to post and keeping her end of things going. I am casting the spotlight on her this month.

Comments: The Genesis is in the middle of a sim. They have come upon a planet that resembles Earth in many ways. The two largest powers, States and Germandy, are on the brink of war. An Away Team has been assembled to go down and investigate but all we could really glean about the planet was from old news footage. That is to say that we know what they look like and that they are about to do battle, but not much else. The away team has been medially altered (turned blue) to blend in with the indigenous population there and are on their way to the transporter room.

Everyone is back from holidays and was posting again. The Sim reached a thrilling Climax. Andromeda is about to drop her baby. We have managed to find an excellent GM in Gene Gibbs.
Open Positions:
Some Junior positions. We aren't (understaffed for once.)
Spotlight:
Everyone has been good, but I'd especially like to mention Robin Bird, Jon Paige and Tom Hillman, who are relatively new additions to the crew, but who are all excellent role-players and have carried the ship along in the last few months.

Well, I think I can say it - the end of the sim is nigh. Very close now and likely will be done on a more or less official basis by the end of the month. For something that began as a 'before sim' star base side sim it rather expanded.
So the 'Swarm Ships' that followed the Dragon Ships out of the artificially created anomaly engaged in immediate battle with everything there, including the star base under construction and the Merrimack which threatened to overwhelm the forces there, especially with the Star base ill equipped and the Merrimack still damaged from her previous mission. However, firing on the station set off a detonation that took out a third of the station - along with a good portion of the attacking swarm ships. The remainder of them are retreating.
Spotlight:
The thread with Mandy in labor has been an entertaining and fun thread to follow. Kudos to her and David Fergusson who are involved in that. Jon Page has been an eager addition to the crew as the CSO.
AFComm notes:
Overall Rating: 3
Comments: The Merrimack has just finished their sim although they may take some time to wrap up loose ends. They were under attack by swarm ships full of man sized mantis creatures. The creatures also boarded the Merri on deck 4. In order to get rid of the threat to them, the Merri decided to blow up the space station and use its explosion to ignite the swarm ships in close proximity to it. First they tried to evacuate the station of its 51 crewman. They were able to retrieve 38 of them before it went up. Most of the swarm ships were destroyed in the blast. The ones that weren't turned and fled while dragon ships pursued them. The Merri was invited to dock with what was left of the station in order to undergo repairs, even though the station was operating on secondary power now. The intrusion on deck 4 was handled with a hull breech that sucked out almost all of the mantis people into space. The few that remain are being dealt with by security. On another note, Andromeda is in the middle of giving birth to a breach baby.

The crews posting has increased due to an influence of new personnel add to that the character development has improved. However we have not advanced much farther with the sim however this is due in part to our CSO having her internet sabotaged by my squir- I mean by unknown persons/things. :P
Open Positions:
Engineers, science officers and security people.

I am nominating Jon Page for his work IC in coordinating security work in the current sim, he's shown good promise as the COS and I'm looking forward to see how he progresses.

After a bit of a slow down in action (mostly due to me) things have picked up somewhat again. The crew is slowly piecing together things ... and now knows that they are being Tested ... failure in any one or more of the TESTs will result in destruction of the Olympic and, consequently, and unsurprisingly, death of all those on board.
Spotlight:
hmmm ... Al as XO needs spotlighting I think this month. He's showing great promise in his first command position

Comments: It looks as though there are a whole lot of personal interactions going on the Oly. It all looks like side sim material. There was an interesting point however when a 'time being', a woman dressed in black appeared out of nowhere and took a member of the crew away with her--Alex Muir. The crew of the ship has apparently been tasked to pass some test. Survival is riding on their victory. There are two men down in the corridor and sickbay has been notified. Also security. The medical team on the Oly has found a cycle that is repeating itself. While performing an autopsy, the found that every four years ships in the vicinity of space they are in have a year of odd deaths followed by three years with no deaths. This cycle has been repeating itself for the last 20 years. This cycle is directly tied to the tests the Oly crew is going to be put through. They are guessing it is something like the Olympics.

Slow second half for the Vanguard this month. I'm not exactly sure why yet, but I think it may be a reflection of the posting frequency of the command staff, myself included. That being said, almost everyone is staying within their posting requirements. So maybe it's just my imagination...

Comments:
Well, let’s see. The V'rill Hegemony opted to stir up the pot and launched an attack on the Vanguard's shuttle in which the Captain was upon. This was against what seemed the policy with the V'rill Navy, leaving them to deal with by the Vanguard. This began an episode of the two cruisers exchanging fire, and fighter ships dog fighting in space as the Captain's shuttle lands hard.
Meanwhile on the comet, the away team that is there seeking the answer for the mystery of the anomalous waves affecting the sector and which, according to the Andorians, threatened the very existence of Andor. Thus far they have penetrated the old Andorian mine that was there and encountered a threat - some form of creature who possibly killed one of their number.
Back on the Vanguard the science officer Sevek was unexpectedly overcome by an encounter with the glowing lobster like creature that appeared and communicated with the science group. Slowly he was becoming like one of them - glowing. Rushing him to sickbay they are attempting to treat him to slow the progression of his transfiguration.
The crew is posting well; though the fighters suddenly got a tad 'light' oddly enough right around the time when the fighting really got going that involved them. I'm hoping that I can keep up a consistent posting level, not to mention interest level. My biggest issue right now is not so much activity for the departments but integrating them along a consistent timeline.
Spotlight:
Katy Connor has been posting very emotional posts this month and very well in character. All of security is doing well having to deal with the unseen threat on the comet. Jacob Seime held command together well this month as he manned the bridge and coordinating the different events happening in the battle.
FComm notes:
Overall Rating: 3
Comments: With the end of the month it seems like the post has not been a frequent from anyone. Though most stay within AWOL limits which are good. I would like to see the DH's spots full in the next month and I know Cheryl and Dan are both working on it.
This months POM POM winner is D Grisham for all her hard work on the Europa.
