James' Quarters on USS Victorious

: : : : "Mmm!" James intoned and looked thoughtful. "What's good in zero-gravity... Actually, let's say scrap the zero-g, and we can go back to my place and we can make use of a table and some real food. Well... replicated food... real enough I guess. Sound good?" he asked, surrupticiously trying to catch one of his orbiting shoes with a toe.

: : : "You mean I'm being invited into the inner sanctum, how could I refuse," Tamar said with a glimmer in her eye. James had a reputation that his quarters were spartan to say the least. But Tamar's personal experience with the COS, had shown her someone who was nothing like the rumors on ship had said he was. Their first night out they had ended up having dinner in her quarters after a Bajoran Cafe program went amok and nearly killed them. She was curious about how he lived. Her own quarters were mostly devoid of decoration and she was curious if his were the same.

: : James flailed a hand dramatically, "To the Eagle-Cave!" he pronounced, grinning. "Computer, end program." he commanded and the stars flickered away, returning the room to it's blank state. He picked up a fallen shoe and examined it closely, just to be sure, shook it upside-down before being satisfied and pulling it on. He held out an arm "Shall we?" as the doors opened back into the ship.

: "You lead the way," Tamar said as her eyes began to adjust to brighter light of the holodeck in its blank state.

James did just that. Soon they were strolling down the corridoor on deck 3 that lead to his quarters. He stopped outside the door, and leaned in close to a panel on the wall, which flashed a light in his eye. "Can't be too careful." he explained to Tamar. The door opened into the pitch black room beyond. James led Tamar inside by her hand, the doors closing them, engulfing them in total darkness, James' eyes gleaming neon green in the darkness. "Computer, lights" he ordered, and the room was flooded with illumination.

His quarters were large by usual standards, as if they had once been two seperate living spaces. The central room looked like a museum, with several sets of armour on stands, with a highly modified set of starfleet marine BDU's in the centre. There were replications of several famous paintings on the walls, and all of this surrounded a large oak desk, with a sage-green leather top. In the room to the right was a sizeable kitchen, and off to the left was some sort of work-room, bare of funishings and filled with tools and weapon parts. Straight through was a bedroom with a king-size bed, his fathers Okatana hanging above the bed, the walls of the room lined entirely with books.

If she looked at the desk she would notice maps of Bajor, notes, plans, and the same set of co-ordinates written over and over that he had tattooed on his shoulder. Like his office, the room had a faint smell of liquor in the air, and on either side of the door they had enetered through were two ornate drinks cabinets. James looked at her and smiled. "Welcome to my home."

-James
