: : James stalked malevolently down the corridoor, hair and trench-caot flwoing behind him in a mass of black to contrast his pale white skin. He'd been called up for a routine pysche evaluation. As a rule he loathed shrinks in all their forms, and did his utmost to thwart their every attempt to analyze and label him. He'd had regular sessions between the ages of 15 and 23, as starfleet was keen to find out if he was crazy, but their conclusions always came to nothing. He knew that most of his known history was recorded on the database* and was wondering if this new councellor would open with the 'parent issue', 'abandonment problems' or 'the vigilante complex'. These seemed favourites of all his previous shrinks. Eventually he reached the door, and after a moments reluctant hesitation, pressed the buzzer.

: It wasn't the CNS's idea to call the COS in. He had just been the unlucky one at the top of a stack of PaDDs on her desk. Maybe it was a setup, maybe not, but there was no time like the present to get down to work. She wanted an angle that no-one had used on Eagle before. A parent issue didn't fly with her and she could have been called a vigilante at some points in her life. That was dating conversation, not an opening salvo in a psyche eval.
