Comments Hey ho; another note from the Captain to his beloved ship. Just wanted to give everyone a little nudge to remain in AWOL times; I don't want to have to come down hard again. An angry flamingo is not a pretty sight :) February report: - Crew posting level: 7 I am thrilled to report that the Ogawa has improved again, since my last report. Posting has certainly improved both in quantity and quality. The boards are looking nice and full, and I have a lot to read each time I log on. People are getting involved, and there are side sims cropping up here and there. I have taken over the sim, myself, which I have found challenging, but it seems to be going well. My real life commitments have recently shot through the roof, but I have managed to sustain the Ogawa with the help of my crew. It is very near completion and so we will be coming to a time when the crew will have to amuse themselves while we get another sim up and running. I won't be accepting this as an excuse for AWOL either! Though Peter has been fulfilling the role of XO behind the scenes for a while now, this will be the start of his official crown wearing reign as my First Officer, and already he is doing more than his share. I expect great things from him, and am pleased I managed to get him before anyone else did. He has been coming up with interesting ideas, and actively seeking out responsibilities and training for the role. I want to say a HUGE thank you to Kevin Harbison, my good friend, who has been with me since I took my first faltering steps on the Ogawa. He is staying with us, thankfully, else I would have chained him up and attached him to a nacelle. There is still a lot of work to be done. I want to see month by month improvements indefinitely. There is still the odd player who continues to dip their toe into AWOL-waters, and for now I am being lenient. When the new sims starts however, I will probably have another bout of meanness, just to keep in shape. By next month, I want the sim to be well and truly over, a lot of side sims and character development on the board, and to have a push on recruitment. - Spotlight(s): Charles Gilmore continues to impress me with his character. He has made his CMO more real and given greater depth than almost anyone on the ship. Anyway, love to everyone. Keep up the good work and have fun. Alex Contact Information:

Comments Firstly I'd like to say thank you to Kevin for leaving me these massive shoes to fill, hopefully with time and a little padding I'll be able to fill them. I also want to say thank you to Alex for trusting me enough to ask me to take on the job hopefully I don't crash and burn, especially if I'm at the helm at the time. This is not only my first XO post on the Ogawa but my first post ever as an XO so you'll have to bear with me if it's not quite up to scratch, I hope in time this space will become an area where I can say how well I think the crew is doing and keep everyone up to date with the sim without having to resort to multiple OOC posts. Alex has kindly agreed to delegate this months awards to me which will be on the 1st March for February's posts so there's still a couple of days to pull something spectacular out of the bag. On a final note I wanted to say well done to everyone who's made the ship so lively in the last few weeks, after a short hiatus from STF I rejoin the Ogawa and the ship and crew have become like a strange extended family so it's great to see everyone so keen to get posting. The USS Ogawa is a McCoy-Class Medical Cruiser. Resources include two Liberty-Class runabouts--Osiris and Abida--shuttlecraft Perceptive and Precise, a host of medical and scientific equipment, a crew of forty and a cadre of visiting staff from across the Federation to protect the inhabited worlds against the omnipresent threat of illness and injury. The Ogawa performs Secondary duties as a patrol ship, and is capable of functioning as a combat support tender with atmospheric and landing capabilities. |

Please note Ladies and Gentlemen that the AWOL policy is 4 days for all crewmembers. Some of you might be aware that the Captain of this beloved ship is quite stern when it comes to AWOL enforcement. Alex doesn't give many chances and not without good reason. Try and stick to the 4 days. If you have any problems then please get in touch and we can easily work things out; don't just expect to be able to pop in and out when you feel like it :P We currently have vacancies in all departments, so if you are interested, drop Alex a line by clicking here and we'll have a talk. We have positions in the medical department, such as nursing staff which have not been filled and we would be interested in taking people on to do these extra roles. Very soon, Alex and Phil will be putting their heads together to do some form of monthly awards for the ship, probably based on posting quality, contribution or skill, so get considering if you want it to be your name in lights! Do you have any suggestions on how to make the ship better or more fun? If so then why not post an OOC note on the board so we can all have a good old debate :) | ||
