The USS Ogawa is a McCoy-Class Medical Cruiser. Resources include two Liberty-Class runabouts--Osiris and Abida--shuttlecraft Perceptive and Precise, a host of medical and scientific equipment, a crew of forty and a cadre of visiting staff from across the Federation to protect the inhabited worlds against the omnipresent threat of illness and injury. The Ogawa performs secondary duties as a patrol ship, and is capable of functioning as a combat support tender with atmospheric and landing capabilities.

We operate off of the Average posting speed, which sets the AWOL limits as follows:
3 days for Command Staff (CO, XO &GM).
5 days for Department Heads (DH's).
7 days for Junior Officers (JO's).

Kal is within the walls of the village. She was taken to what appears to be a "quarantine" area were several villagers and the missing duckblind team lay in pain on crude cots. Kal was given a sedative and has woken up sometime later to the sounds of screaming. Meanwhile, the away team encountered a hourde of strange looking creatures in the forest. The creatures can't see them, but they obviously know that they are there. They seem to have a protective instinct toward the COS. Meanwhile, a second away team on has beamed down to the duckblind to try to finish the investigation and access the EMH data program. The CO is on the bridge coordinating the efforts.

Now, more of the villagers are starting to cry out in pain. What is the cause? Are the duckblind crew next? What about Kal? The away team in the forest must fight off the creatures and get to the village. Will they all make it? The EMH needs some repair. Or the entire data pack could be taken back to the Ogawa and accessed there. The CO has learned that a nearby volcano is preventing them from getting a lock on Kal or the away team in the village. There is no communication available. However, at the duckblind, the transport signal might be able to be enhanced by locking with the Ogawa's transporters. The conclusion is right around the corner!
