Crewman Rolanda Edwards stumbles into sickbay complaining of a severe headache and CMO discovers a second brain! In the meantime, a battle ship with beings calling themselves the Nakajians have demanded for Rolanda Edwards whom they regard as a traitor to their empire. One snag though ... Rolanda Edwards is human!

The Samurai was sent to a remote communications relay array. Halfway there, they encountered a spatial anomaly. There was a platform attached to a small wall sitting in the middle of space. According to sensors, the interior dimensions exceeded the dimensions of the space it was occupying. Raising their shields, the ship found that they were missing some crewmen. At first, they were low-ranking crew. Then the CO was kidnapped. Then he escaped and was badly injured. From treating him, they discovered that the place he was brought to had a strange energy signature. At the same time, some crew members were acting strangely and displayed the same energy signature. A plan was made to go to the platform. There the away team encountered individuals dressed in fatigue uniforms like those at the communications relay array. Unfortunately, they died before they could talk to them. The strange thing was that they did not wear any protective wear in the vacuum of space and they died more of suffocation than a breakdown of their bodies. Then a gigantic form of a small space slug appeared at the door way that the away team had opened. NE Gamma got too close and was struck by the slug's tentacles, which administered a dose of neurotoxin. The ship managed to beam a sample back to find an antidote.With the engineering and science teams working overtime, they managed to beam the slug back to the cargo bay of the Samurai.
