Background Information
Meet the Deloesians! The inhabitants of Deloesia. They are a fiercely loyal, honourable and traditional people who are distinguished from humans by the ridges around their eyes. The Deloesians and the Federation made first contact a few years ago when then Deloesians created spacecraft capable of warp flight and used their craft to explore their system and the neighbouring system. The Deloesians didn't explore any further as their physiology required them to remain in contact with their planet's surface. They are offering their dilithium field to the group who can do the most for them ... either Federation, Romulans, Klingons, Ferengi ... perhaps some others. They are led by Leader Lirinias and his life partner the healer Valentina ... they have a son Ammancoe who has reached the age for him to go through the ceremony to name him an adult in Deloesian society. Recently, a child hood disease has been killing their children ... and they blame the Tiburones for it.
Meet the Tiburones! Downtrodden by their Deloesian brethren. Forced to live underground and in the mountains. They were visited by a Federation 'representative' who told them to attack the Deloesians during the ceremony when the Federation officers were there ... and take some of the captive in order for their complaints to be heard. The Federation representatives left explosives with the Tiburones to achieve this aim. Their children were also struck down by the same disease as the Deloesian children ... and they blame the Deloesians for it. They are led by Aemillius who has a son, Marikus and a daughter, Amaranta. Amaranta is about the same age as Ammancoe.
Mission1 "The Machinalinguista Virus"
The ship and crew managed to get through this virus mostly in one piece. They did, however, lose two crewmembers in the process, and the Ambassador with them was revealed to be a clone. The Ambassador was cloned by the Breen, for a reason not totally clear at the moment.
Mission 2 "To Join or not to Join"
The Endeavor arrives and the crew meet the Deloesians. During the naming ceremony for Ammancoe, the fireworks go off, and the crew and Deloesians alike are knocked unconscious. They awake to find some of their number missing, and learn more details from the Deloesians who admit to the presence of the Tiburones. They warn that they will never see their crewmembers again as the Tiburones will kill them.
The missing crewmembers wake to find themselves guests of the Tiburones who tell their story, including about the childhood disease that is killing their children and of a 'Federation Representative' who told them to carry out the attack. The Federation members offer to help work on a cure for the children and are taken by the Tiburones to the 'Great Lake' where the disease seemed to first mutate (just after the 'Federation Representative' visited them.)
Ammancoe is leading a small group of the crew into the mountains to attempt a rescue, while Lirinias prepares his men to go in and wipe out the Tiburones 'whatever the cost'. The skeleton crew on the ship are surprised by a Romulan vessel that has suddenly appeared ... demanding to know why the Federation is there when they were told by a 'Deloesian representative' that they would have an agreement and a face to face meeting.
TT is a young man in a Federation uniform who appears to be on some kind of special assignment. What is this assignment, and what will he discover about the Federation Representative?
