As the Challenger when hurdling through space at Warp 7 the listening post was making ready for the reception of the cadets.

The station commander and lead scientist had received the communication hours after the ship left Sol’s system and was practically giddy with glee. “Do you know when they will get here?” he asked his assistant, Lieutenant Commander Svetlana Ivanov.

“Nyet,” she replied before shaking her head, “No, not exactly. Sometime in the next three to four hours if they kept to course at speed.” She grinned a moment, “Do they know what they are carrying?”

The commander shook his head, “No I think only three people know what is in that box. Maybe four. Hopefully they didn’t open it or it will ruin the surprise. Hail them and see where they are at.”

The XO nodded and then pushed the button, sending a priority message through the void to the Challenger…

OOC: Bump and…

IC: Ivanov sighed, “No answer sir. Shall I try to hail them again?”

The station commander sighed and nodded pushing his chin up, “Use the priority channel this time.”

Aboard the Challenger the communications officer got a notice, “Sir, we have the outpost on a priority channel. Shall I put it through?”

GM

“Let’s get the Captain first… He’s probably going to want to be here for it anyways.”

=^= Bridge to Captain Weir. We have an incoming transmission from the Outpost for you. =^=

NE Cautious

=^=On my way!=^= The Captain called out from his Ready Room. Sam was nervous and didn’t know what to expect. The CO took a deep breath and sighed as he stood up from his desk and made his way onto the Bridge.

“On screen!” He called out as he rounded the command hub. Captain Weir took his head as he wanted for the transmission to appear on the viewscreen.

CO

On the screen, with time, appeared an elderly grandfather type man, clearly more a scientist in charge rather than any sort of commander from a military history. “Ah, which of you is… Oh that one there! Hello Captain Weir!”

He waves at the screen and the rest of the bridge watching the transmission, “I trust your journey is going well, no road bumps or anything to report? When can we expect you?” He looks over his shoulder to the assistant, “Svetlana, we should set up the mess hall for them when they get here. It has been a long journey and I am sure they will want to stretch their legs.”

Turning back to the CO and the bridge crew he gives a chuckle, “Tell me, where you told what you are carrying? I suspect not. K’hal is a… well. A very dear friend.”

GM

The Captain raised his brows slightly. He was picturing someone a bit more dark and stealthy, not some scientist. “We did try to see what was in the box.” Samuel admitted, not knowing what the consequences would be. His ears perked up a bit when he heard the scientist mention the mess hall.

“What exactly is in the box?” Weir asked.
