Catt arrived at the CSO’s door a minute before 0800 hours she waited the minute patiently holding a tray with hot Vulcan spice bread and a mild tea that many Vulcan’s at the academy seemed to like. Punctuality was something she had observed Vulcans seemed to prefer. At 0800 exactly she chimed the door chime. Her uniform was impeccable and not a tuft of fur was out of place. Being in the Sciences she had come to appreciate Vulcans. They disliked being touched as much as she did if they had nothing else in common.

OOC: God I hate my cat sometimes .. Just spent the last 10 minutes writing something only for her to step on my damn F5 key. -_- Anywho, sorry it took so long to get to this! I’m sure you’ve seen me post everywhere else, but work has been complete chaos for me lately with the new job I started recently..

IC: T’Kam spent most of his evening unpacking his things. Granted there weren’t many things that he had brought with him it was just enough to give his quarters and office somewhat of small sense of individuality. In his office however, there was a Kal-Toh set-up on the edge of his desk along with a small bookshelf in the corner which had a few books from the Vulcan Academy. There was also a short table towards the bulkhead windows with a small ornate lamp that held an equally small candle in it. He sat on one side of the table on top of a small rug, cross-legged with his hands resting on his knees. He had finished setting everything up a good while ago, but seeing as he was Vulcan he only slept when it was necessary and spent the majority of the downtime in meditation. He heard the chime echo through his mind and he remained still, watching the light flicker before him, his breathing slowly and steady. “You may enter.” He spoke loudly enough to be heard through the door, but kept his concentration on the candle in front of him.

Catt entered and moved over to the desk where she set out the spiced bread and tea. Vulcan’s being Vulcan’s the bread was of course plain by any other races standards. Then she stood facing Lt. T’Kam.
“I don’t know your personal preferences sir so I chose a rather generic selection from the Vulcan meal plan. I hope sir it is pleasing to you. A well respected human once said that a meeting is not conducted properly unless it is over food. There is a undeniable logic to that.”,

OOC: NP I can only hope that the issues that kept you away are behind you. As for the Cat. It’s the randomness they add to our lives and the love they share with us that make the so wonderful.
Roger.

The Vulcan Lieutenant leaned forward putting one hand behind the candle before giving it a short, steady burst of air to blow out the candle as he slowly brought himself back up to his full height. “It was unnecessary, however, your sentiment is greatly appreciated Cadet. There is also definite logic to that. It would provide a common point to establish a dialog and sharing between those involved.” He walked around his desk and swiveled his chair so that he could take a seat, but before sitting himself he motioned to the two chairs in front of the desk, “Please, have a seat as well Cadet Bennet and tell me, what brought you to Starfleet as opposed to the other options that might have been available to you as a scientist?”

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

Catt flicked an ear and sat careful not to get her tail kinked as she did so. She poured two cups of tea and set one before the CSO before cradling her own in her hand paws.

“Well sir if you mean literally I was sold to a Starfleet Admiral by a Orion trader. I underwent a considerable reeducation period. I was given to choice of remaining in reeducation or going to the Academy. As it was felt I needed a disciplined environment to flourish. The reeducation was at a accelerated learning center. But it was preferable to get free from that center. But ultimately sir. What drove me was simply that my colony was destroyed. I am making it my life mission to see to it that nobody of any species ever has to become what I was before we were rescued by the Orions. So Biology, xenobiology. Mostly Flora specializing in domesticated food plants. I understand sir that I may not have free reign to pursue what is ultimately my obsession.”,

Catt paused. She didn’t think she could alarm her senior officer as she had the Councilor. But between her sence of humor and tendency to tell the whole truth she was finding herself saying more than was absolutely required it might be better to let him ask questions.
