Rhese had made his way back to his quarters in order to access his terminal, so he could begin researching the various options available for the new hydroponics bay project. It was fairly straight forward – he called up a database connection to the Science Station quartermaster’s office, and set parameters to show only the available seeds they had. While the list of available seed varieties was certainly not exhaustive, Rhese was still pleasantly surprised at the overall variety of things to work with, as he began making selections. He’d need to procure a decent variety; yet not so much as to risk overwhelming Cadet Bennet’s own research. Rhese paused for a moment then, in thought – “It might not be a bad idea to look into expanding with vertical aeroponics equipment, as well.” He’d have to talk with Bennet about it further, Rhese decided. At any rate, Rhese had made a healthy list of selections before long, and decided that even if they didn’t use everything to begin with, having a decent stock of extra seeds would be a good idea. Rhese opted to select plant varieties which would produce a high yield within a limited or small amount of space required, so that the plants would fit well within their small footprint.
Rhese double-checked his list. He already had his own stock of lettuce, spinach, and carrot seeds; so for the requisition order, Bowman selected: Roma and Cherry tomatoes, Alpine strawberries, Top Hat low-bush blueberries, Celery, Red and white onions, garlic, broccoli, asparagus, spring peas, Blue lake (bush) green beans, red bell peppers, and Serrano chile peppers. “That ought to be a sufficient variety to get us started!” Rhese thought to himself, and smiled. Bowman logged the list into his requisition order so that it would be sent along with his communique to the station’s Quartermaster, and then initiated the communication to the Quartermaster’s office by opening the com-link through his terminal. =/\= Cadet Bowman to Science Station Quartermaster. =/\=
