He steps out of the turbo lift and walks nervously down the hall toward sickbay. Because he is afraid of going to the doctor he is not looking forward to going to sickbay. He has been trying to work on overcoming this fear since he will probably have to go to sickbay plenty of times, but it is slow going. “Calm down Richie,” he said aloud to himself as he walked. “You can do this. There’s nothing to be afraid of.” By the time he had finished talking himself down he had reached the door to sickbay where he hesitated for a moment. He then took a deep breath, walked in, and finding the nearest person in a blue uniform he said, “E-e-excuse m-m-me.” He cleared his throat and continued saying, “My name is Cadet Locke and I am here for my onboard physical.”

“Hello Cadet,” A smiling face peered over at the young cadet, whose anxiety radiated from him like heat from a nearby star. Setting down the PaDD they had been observing, their gaze meeting the smile curving against their jaw, Obiah turned completely to Richard. “A boarding physical? You must be new!” They assumed, gesturing to an unoccupied biobed, imploring Locke to take a seat. “How were your travels to the Challenger?” As they waited for Locke to take a seat, they retrieved a medical scanner, moseying over to the biobed. Luckily, Locke was human, which meant she didn’t have to check for proper calibration… unless the tricorder had been used previously on some mysterious lifeform, which she greatly doubted.
