Lieutenant Commander Korczak reviewed his files and scowled. One Cadet who had not checked in. ‘That simply won’t do.’ he thought to himself.

Tapping his comm badge, he said =/\= Lieutenant Commander Korczak to Cadet Anderson. Please report to my office. Thank you. =/\= and he reviewed her file for a second time in five minutes.

Korczak, CNS

Lillian was just stealing to her sheared quarters on the lower decks of the Challenger when she was interrupted by her com badge chipping at her and it was lieutenant Commander Korczak The ships counselor she should have known he would catch up with her as she was making a point of missing his office and the check in that was meant to be done when you came on board but she was so over counselling sessions as after the dominion war and what her family had been throw it was normal for starlet to debrief families involved in traumatic evacuations.
Lillian decided she could not avoid him if he was calling her.
=/\= On My way Sir =/\=
she left her quarters and started making her was thro the ship to the last place in the whole universe she wanted to be.
As she approached the office door she made sure to right her uniform and set her face to a neutral expression, she reached out and pushed the buzzer for the door.

There was no sound from the inside, but the door slid open and revealed a space unlike any other on the ship.

The office was lit in a more subdued manner than the rest of the ship, with the light coming from wall lamps rather than the typical overhead lighting. Multiple bookcases with glass enclosed shelves lined one wall, filled with copies and originals of many texts on many different subjects, and a quick glance would show multiple languages as well. The desk was set at an angle against the opposite wall to the door in the corner, allowing for a large open space in the middle. Here there was a couch and a few chairs, one of which sat in front of and facing away from the desk. Pictures hung on the walls, some were even old photographs. Each depicted either places, individuals, or groups of people, and many were in black and white.

Seated at the desk was a plain looking human male with brown hair and brown eyes. He average looking; the kind of person that would be lost in a crowd of more than four or five people. He wore the blue uniform of the Science and Medical Sections, and Lieutenant Commander pips showed on his collar. There was one distinguishing feature about the man, however. Actual glasses were perched on his nose. He looked up, and a very odd accent issued forth, as if multiple accents were vying for control. “Hello, Cadet. I am Lieutenant Commander Korczak, Ship’s Counselor. Please come in. Would you like something to drink?” he asked and gestured to the replicator on the wall.

The door opened to reveal the counsellor’s office and a rather plain officer sitting at a desk.
They always sit at their desk
Lillian walked in to the office and approached the desk she didn’t see anything that amazing in the office it was like all the other offices she had been in.
” Cadet Lillian Anderson reporting as ordered Sir” she stood to attention in front of the desk.
Lillian hated check ins they always want to get to know her but was there really a point on the training ship i mean after they finished this trip she would get here first assignment on what she hoped was a starship, Lillian was not a fan of stair bases they always stay still there was nothing to see on them, no way to make a name for herself to distinguish her self from her family name.
Lillian’s Family had been in service since starfleet was started in the 22nd century.

Korczak nodded his head once and said “At ease, Cadet. And I appreciate your time. Now then…” and he stood up and walked around the desk to the replicator on the wall. “I was just about to get myself some tea. Would you care for anything? And do take a seat, Cadet.” he said and indicated the small sitting area away from the desk. “I don’t stand on much formality in here.” He then turned back to the replicator. “Black currant tea with lemon. Iced.” and a scant moment later the beverage appeared.

Lillian watched as he walked around to the replicator and advised her to take a set Lillian saved the office and to a seat near the desk
“No sir, I don’t require anything”
Lillian watched him order and the drink appear.
Lillian would let him make the first move By doing that she would be able to feel out what his style was like and what his plans where for this meeting if it was going to be a standard check in or if he was going to start trying to “fix” her Issues.

Korczak took the beverage and turned to the seating area. “Please. Let’s sit over here away from the desk. I find having that cumbersome piece of furniture between me and those I speak with to create unneeded barriers.” and he took a seat in the more informal area, setting the drink on the small table in the middle.

“So how was your trip to the Challenger, Miss Anderson? Uneventful, I hope?” he asked, his odd accent lending a strange cadence to his words, but his speech was clear and easy to understand. His face was expressionless, and his demeanor was simply… there. If two more people were speaking in the room, the Lieutenant Commander could just as well have been another chair.
