Lillian could no believe it when the captain advised the XO to Take Cadet on the away mission and the Cmd Harkness Named her to the mission and remedied here to stop by the armoury for a rifle.
“Yes Sir” Lillian stood from her station and made for the axualry Turbolift to get to the Armoury as fast as she could and get geared up for the mission.
The XO had a point there was no way of knowing what they where walking in to and it was a strange situation no real damage but also no power
Lillian arrived at the armoury a short time later and requisition the rifleman and a hand pistol for the mission and made for the Transporter room Better to be early than late she thought

T’Kam lightly tapped Cadet Bennett on the shoulder before she turned to go with the Commander. “Cadet, if you could grab some samples of the flora on that ship, it might be beneficial for us to examine them to see if they might have had any involvement on what happened on the ship. Proceed with caution, I will be monitoring activity from the Bridge in case you encounter anything.” He gave a small nod, knowing that she would hopefully enjoy being able to identify some of the species of plant life on the vessel.

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

Catt flicked an ear in surprise when Captain indicated that cadets should be on the away team. So she turned to look at him. So she continued that turn as the XO ordered her to prepare. She was a bit surprised as her specialties were more suited to planetary survey missions than a rescue mission. But then the fact is the Potterfield’s cargo was mostly biological clicked with what to her felt like a audible realization. Well it was audible as she let out a soft “mewl”, of surprise. That was when T’Kam touched her shoulder., she flinched, ducked and rolled her shoulder to avoid maintaining contact. Vulcan’s normally avoided contact. Catt hated being touched it was something unusual for Caitan’s who generally were one of the most tactile species. She almost hissed at him. But her tail went erect as a fear/danger reaction and seeing as her tail was injured the pain snapped her out of the instinctive reaction. Her fur still bristled making her look bigger. Fluffier. And embarrassingly cute like a fluffy plush toy. She cleared her throat, “Yes sir. If possible samples.”, she said quickly in a voice that started high but settled into a normal tone. Her tail settled into it’s normal position the tip twitching. She started going over what she would need for the missing in her head as she headed for the turbolift. But she glanced at the councilor as she passed. He likely would notice her moment of panic. That it had nothing to do with the mission was unlikely to be apparent to anyone. So every pace felt like a mile. She almost expected someone to stop her and take her off the mission. She of course had self doubts., but as long as she focused on the task on hand she knew she could do it. It just didn’t seem that way to others all the time.

Cadet Catt Bennet, Sciences.

OOC: Just tweaked a few spelling things, hope ya don’t mind! But over all I loved the way you described your actions in this post, nicely written!

IC: T’Kam raised an eyebrow and immediately made a mental note of her reaction as he moved his hands behind his back. Before she headed out, he spoke in a voice low enough for her ears to pick up. “Apologies Cadet, I neglected to remember that Caitans are very similar in certain aspects to Vulcans .. Perhaps humans are influencing more than I anticipated ..?” His expression took on a bit of confusion, not necessarily at the situation, but more at himself wondering how a simple action seemed to skip his thoughts.

“Lieutenant T’Kam continue to monitor the Potterfield for any changes, Nijix lets have a Security team on standby if needed.” Felix returned to his chair and sat down as if sending Cadets on an away mission was completely normal, which, considering that they were crew on an active Starship, was.

The Captain’s voice brought him back to reality and he shook his head lightly. “Understood Captain.” He centered himself on the console now that the Cadet was in the turbolift and focused the sensors to continuously monitor the power levels and the area of life support on the vessel. “Computer, what is the estimated time remaining for life support aboard the Potterfield ..?” While waiting for the response, on one side of the screen he pulled up a blueprint from the database of the vessel type in order to assist in guiding any teams if necessary. His fingers worked diligently as he started looking through the earlier searches, looking for anything that stood out.

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

He looked over to his Chief Medical Officer and added, “Dr Torrirs, make Sickbay ready for probable injured, and stand by to beam over if needed. The Potterfield is supposed to have more crew than we are showing on sensors, we likely have injuries to attend to.”

Captain Rhodes, CO

Catt turned in the turbolift to face the bridge and said softly in a voice she expected nobody could hear as she kept it in sub harmonics. LT. T’Kam might hear it as it was within the auditory range of Vulcan’s, “Sir. Most Of my species love being touched. I am just not like most of my species. It is I who needs apologize.” This was said rapidly as the doors closed. Her ears blushed behind the closed doors and set the lift to take her to the crew deck so she could collect what was required.

The computer beeped back that life support was stable and had many hours of operation given the size of the humanoid population indicated.

Gordon sat at his station and monitored the sensors and readouts of the away team. He kept an eye on all the challenger’s systems, mainly focusing on the transporter systems to ensure that he could bring the team back if needed.

Acknowledging the report from the computer T’Kam thought it to be best to let the Captain know in case there were any worries. “Life support should be stable for several more hours on deck 3, Captain. Life support appears to be offline for the rest of the Potterfield.”

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

“Thank you Lieutenant,” Felix said casually, “keep your eyes on it. Let’s make sure we are ready to assist if need be. Keep scanning the area in case we get company as well.”

Then, he opened his comm line.

=/\= Away Team, this is Captain Rhodes. What is your status over there? =/\=

Captain Rhodes, CO

=^= Stand by Captain. =^=

=^= Challenger, this is Commander Harkness. We are working on making contact with the remaining crew here. However, we have encountered some sort of life form. It gave one of the cadets a bit of a scare. We are trying to ascertain what we have encountered. =^=
