Gordon sat at his station and monitored the sensors and readouts of the away team. He kept an eye on all the challenger’s systems, mainly focusing on the transporter systems to ensure that he could bring the team back if needed.

Acknowledging the report from the computer T’Kam thought it to be best to let the Captain know in case there were any worries. “Life support should be stable for several more hours on deck 3, Captain. Life support appears to be offline for the rest of the Potterfield.”

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

“Thank you Lieutenant,” Felix said casually, “keep your eyes on it. Let’s make sure we are ready to assist if need be. Keep scanning the area in case we get company as well.”

Then, he opened his comm line.

=/\= Away Team, this is Captain Rhodes. What is your status over there? =/\=

Captain Rhodes, CO

=^= Stand by Captain. =^=

=^= Challenger, this is Commander Harkness. We are working on making contact with the remaining crew here. However, we have encountered some sort of life form. It gave one of the cadets a bit of a scare. We are trying to ascertain what we have encountered. =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

OOC: Going to play off the interference idea that I saw earlier on the away mission sim :)

IC: T’Kam had been scrutinizing the sensors for the last few minutes picking up some sort of interference, or so it seemed. There would be another life form near the group and then the next second it would disappear. It would happen all around the group so he couldn’t be sure what exactly it was. When he would try to refine the focus of the sensors, any life form that was there, wasn’t anymore. “I can’t quite confirm Captain .. It could be some sort of interference, but at times it would appear as if there indeed is .. something .. there with them.”

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

Lots of things if T’Kam had to guess. If there were other creatures not in the sickbay, it is very likely that they would be able to hide in the interference caused by the biomass that the away team found coating the inner walls of the Potterfield.

“Keep scanning Lieutenant,” Felix said as he tapped his fingers on the arm of his chair. “Lets not let the team be surprised by something unexpected.” Then he opened his comm line again.

“Yes sir.”

=/\=Acknowledged, Commander=/\= Came the voice of Rhodes from the ship. =/\= Stay alert, and let us know if you need personnel or material support.=/\=

Captain Rhodes, CO

=^= Captain. Cadet Locke was supposed to have beamed over to us. He’s not here. Is he still on the Challenger? =^=

Cmdr. Harkness - XO

T’Kam began a scan on the team’s location as a whole to perhaps identify what was interfering with the scan of the area. His hopes were to identify the life form or what was obscuring the scan to be able to filter it out so that only the necessary information he wanted was left.

Lt. T’Kam (CSO)

T’Kam’s Scans proved more or less fruitless. The bio-mass originated one of the cargo bays, or at least it is thickest there. A couple of the other cargo bays seemed more or less free from the pervasive biomass but over all a manual inspection will need to be done. Main engineering would need to be investigated to bring the Potterfield back online if the crew wanted to do anything other than rescue the people hiding in sickbay.

GM Wombat

=/\=Commander, Locke was assigned to transport with your team. Logs show he should be with you. =/\= Felix replied after checking the panel on the arm of his chair.
